Why can't you put these in the freezer?

Unfortunately my parcel came empty so I haven’t been able to use them. However my understanding is that if you put them in the freezer and directly onto your skin you could burn yourself (first aid course) best thing to do is to put them in a cup of ice cubes if you want instant usage. They are made out of metal so they will be very cold from the fridge, I have some smaller ones that have been supplied with eye creams and they’re cold without me putting them in the fridge.
