This is the BEST litter ever. I layer my 9-1/2#rabbits’ litter box with this and white litter on top as well. No more odor! I purchase the white litter on Amazon as well. Easy cleanup. I highly recommend this litter.

It was time to order a good quality bedding for my Ball Python since my last purchase of bedding ran out. My usual Aspen Bedding worked well, BUT, for what it now costs on Amazon is 32.95 for 24 quarts. This product is basically the same with a bit larger "chips" that provide good coverage and absorption. This 141 Liter bag provides the same "Volume" as SIX BAGS of my past favorite, which, when you "do the math", equates a cost of only about $5.83 per 24 quarts, the volume of the mentioned Aspen Bedding. (141 L = 148 Q). The choice was clear; buying a similar quality bedding for abut ONE SIXTH the price was a no-brainer. It is packaged with a high degree of compression that expands when digging out several handfuls for terrarium cleaning. With two cleanings so far, there is barely a "dent" in the massive bag of shavings which should last for a very long time. Overall, a VERY GREAT value....

My piggies love this bedding! It is just a bit dusty, but only at first, and doesn't give them any problems (no sneezing or irritation). They popcorn all over the place when put into their fresh clean house. I did fleece bedding for a bit, but as I have to go to a laundromat to wash clothes, it just became much too difficult to make sure their house was clean and dry. I tried carefresh, but it was super expensive and my piggies didn't like it (made them sneeze and it seemed like they were itchier than normal). This Aspen bedding has proved to be a great alternative! And it's such a great price compared to going to a local pet store! It's not quite as odor controlling as the paper bedding, but the piggies like it better and I don't mind having to clean their house out a little more frequently to keep them comfortable. :) I definitely recommend this bedding if you can't use fleece bedding!

Great but the batch I got smells like mulch or a farm with animal waste. I do like the bedding better, at least for rats. The aspen pieces are bigger so they don’t get caught/imbedded in the carpet and such. It’s also less dusty but still have to sift it first. I did find a few large/sharp pieces in there but I just picked them out. I check anyways when I sift it I just can’t stand the smell! And now my rats smell like cow you know what. I hope I just got a bad batch maybe? Will try again for sure but won’t a third if it still smells like this!

I have a pretty big Midwest Habitat cage for my guinea pig. I originally used fleece bedding that was just too much of a pain to keep washing over and over. I was worried this type of bedding would just end up all over my floor and while he does kick some of it out it's way easier to keep up with than the fleece laundry nightmare lol. Plus within a day or two with the fleece I was smelling the pee (I think because of summer humidity as it wasn't that bad over the winter). This bedding keeps his cage smelling fresh between cleanings and I'm not seeing any staining on the canvas cage lining so it definitely soaks up his pee well. And this bag lasts forever. Barely makes a dent in the bag when I completely fill his cage with new bedding. If you get the big bag like I did it can be a bit awkward holding it over the cage to fill it (scooping from bag to cage gets it on my carpet so I prefer the other way) but I am a small woman and not very strong. All bedding has a bit of dust but it is really very minimal with this stuff. I love it.

This is an amazing price for how much you get. The bags are huge and expand way more than what you think. I was able to fill three bins with 6-9in of bedding in each bin and still have a third of a bag left. It does compact down as your pet uses it which allows it to hold burrows really well and my hamster and mice have been so happy on this bedding. I did get some dustiness around the middle and bottom of the bag when taking chunks out but was not dusty when put into the bins; as long as you wipe yourself off after using then you should be good. Definitly recommend for small pets like hamsters, mice, rats and even snakes like cornsnakes, western hognoses and kenyan sand boas. Dont use this for animals that need high humidity as the wood chips will mold if they stay wet and the wood does soak up moisture really well.

My Guinea Pig just loves these Aspen wood shavings. They are easy to clean up. The odor is perfect. And the bag goes a long way.

I purchased this product for my chinchilla. I included a video of her previous cage setup which included the aspen shavings. I no longer use aspen shavings as bedding and I have since switched to fleece liners, which is my recommendation. TL;DR below if you don't want to read this whole review Aspen Shavings Pros/Cons Pros - If you specifically want aspen shavings, I have no problem with this brand (I actually buy several other products for my chinchilla through this brand) - Conceals poop more than fleece liners - Provides a rustic look - Save money in short term compared to fleece liners which are expensive up front Cons - Shavings can get moved around the cage, leaving certain areas with thick stack of shavings and certain areas with not enough shavings to cover the ground (can be seen in the video and while this can easily be fixed by re-distributing it yourself, it is inconvenient) - Messy as they get onto your floor, and every week (recommended) you need to remove dirty shavings and replace them - Weekly cage cleaning took longer with aspen shavings as bedding - I don't see a way that you can clean the bedding daily as you can't sweep/vacuum just the poop and not all of the bedding. You could change the bedding daily (which I feel is too frequently), or you could sift through the bedding to remove feces, like with chinchillas who have solid poop, (I think that's a waste of time) while with fleece liners, you simply vacuum/sweep daily and wash 1-2 times per week - More expensive in long run as fleece liners cost approx $80 up front, but then you never have to buy them again whereas with aspen shavings, they cost $20 and need to be replaced approx monthly (depending on size bag you purchase, I used most of my 41L pack bedding after a few weeks) TL;DR I prefer fleece liners over aspen shavings for bedding for my chinchilla. In my opinion, aspen shavings are messier and more expensive in the long run.

Works good, a little dusty when I opened it first but no strong scent. Hamster doesn't sneeze and seems happy with it. Lasts for a long time and hamster loves digging in it. Add some softer bedding on top though, as the wood is quite tough. I put my whole arm in the bag and didn't get a single splinter, some wood also got under my nails but was able to easily remove, so I felt confident giving it to my hamster.

I like this product...... so does my Bunny. Keeps the litter clean.
