This is a heavy duty, dependable cord. It doesn't kink, and thanks to the indicator light we don't have to walk back to the outlet to double check whether it's plugged in or not. We use it for our bbq/smoker, so when in use it's outdoors for an entire day, regardless of the weather. it has held up beautifully, and the length is perfect - not so long that there is extra cord to trip over. Both ends of the cord are made of solid, high quality materials and seem to be built to last. I'd absolutely buy this (or its longer version) again.

VERY nice!! I have a second 50' that I've had for years, along with another 50' of a lighter gauge cord. I didn't realize until recently that some of my yard tools need this heavier gauge for safety of the tool and was using the lower gauge one with the heavier gauge. Then found out the output would only be that of the lighter gauge. This is a super heavy duty cord and as with my other one, has a light indicator showing it has power going to it. Live and learn, and now I feel safe using my tools! Great price and fast shipping!

This is a pretty basic item, but it’s an excellent one. If you’re looking for a heavy-duty extension cord, this is a great choice. It’s well made, reasonably priced, and works exactly as it should. I especially like the bright yellow color because it’s easy to see, which helps prevent it from becoming a trip hazard or getting overlooked. The lighted end that lets you know the cord has power is a very handy feature as well. I’m very pleased with this purchase.

​I’ve gone through my share of flimsy, cheap outdoor cords that feel like they'll melt if you look at them wrong. I finally decided to get a proper "heavy-duty" cord for my power tools (miter saw, shop vac) and for running our electric smoker, and this HUANCHAIN cord is the real deal. ​Right out of the box, you can feel the quality. This isn't some lightweight 16-gauge cord. The 12-gauge (12/3) wire is thick and has a substantial, rugged feel. The "SJTW" jacket is tough, and I have no doubt it will hold up to being dragged across the driveway or through wet grass. ​Key things I love: ​The Power: This is the main reason I bought it. It’s rated for 15 Amps / 1875 Watts. I can run my miter saw without any power drop, and the cord doesn't even get warm. This is crucial for tool performance and safety. ​The Lighted End: This is one of those features you don’t think you need until you have it. The female end lights up when it's plugged in, which does two things: it instantly confirms the outlet I'm using has power, and it makes it incredibly easy to find the end in a dim garage or as it's getting dark outside. ​Flexibility: For such a thick cord, it's surprisingly flexible. I haven't used it in sub-zero temps yet, but the "cold-resistant" claim seems believable. It coils up much more easily than my old, stiff vinyl cord. ​Safety: The high-visibility yellow color is great for avoiding a trip hazard, and the ETL listing gives me peace of mind that it's been properly tested. This is a great extension cord. I like the heavy duty quality. The indicator light allows me to know it's ready to go, even when I'm very far away from the outlet. They heavy gauge allows my leaf blower to run at top speed even with its 100 foot length. I would definitely purchase again.

I needed a 40 ft 12 GA extension cord for dedicated indoor shop use, to be surface mounted along a wall but in two spots running behind some dust collection pipes with tight clearance. Since I was going to have to cut off and replace one end (or the other) in order to successfully fit it along the intended location, I decided to get a 50' length in order to end up with a bonus 10' spare extension after minimal re-work. On delivery, I was skeptical that the 8-1/2" square by 3-1/2" high corrugated box it was packaged in was big enough to hold a 50' 12 AWG cord, but ironically it probably would have. The cord when measured was only 49' long, but there was a tiny bit of volume remaining in the box, enough to hold one additional foot which would have made the claimed length correct. Oh well, for my intended use 49' was close enough, so I did not send it back. Before cutting I tested to make sure polarity was correct (it was) and otherwise that it functioned as an extension cord is expected to - which it mostly did, but not entirely. I found that the receptacle end would not safely accept a plug - like another reviewer noted, plugs (I tried several) would only insert halfway and would not go in any further despite a great deal of force applied. Interestingly, the circuit was actually completed but the plug contacts were left with about 1/2" dangerously exposed. With the re-work I was planning anyway this was not an issue for me, I just replaced the receptacle, but for normal use it would certainly have been an issue. Can't say if the receptacle problem occurs often, but it apparently happened to at least one other customer. While doing the re-work I observed the internal construction and can report that the current carrying wires are indeed 12 AWG, as claimed, and are made from quality bright copper. The ground wire was only 14 AWG, also copper. Technically this extension cord should be listed as 12/2 with ground, instead of as 12/3, but to me that is a minor point. In normal operation grounds do not carry current. When they do carry current, it is in response to an unsafe condition wherein high currents will quickly trip a breaker or blow a fuse, and low currents should trip a GFCI, and in either case overheating would be very unusual, justifying a smaller diameter. All conductors are stranded, with a relatively high number of strands for good flexibility. Each wire is insulated with plastic (probably PVC?) rated for 105 deg C, and colored black, white, and green for hot, neutral and ground, respectively. The spaces between the three wires are filled with many strands of non-stretchable (and non-conductive) threads in three groupings. Some kind of thin spun-woven fabric wraps them all together under a relatively heavy but still flexible and highly visible orange outer jacket. To sum up, the socket end of this product was certainly not perfect, and the length while good enough didn't quite give full measure, and the listing spec should be 12/2 with ground instead of 12/3. However, the core definitely exceeded expectations, so considering only factors important to me this product got 4 stars. However, if you can't or don't want to handle a potential plug/receptacle issue (either by return or repair), or needed length of 50' is critical, then you probably are best advised to not get this particular product.

This extension cord is exactly what I was looking for in higher amperage draw applications, mainly corded power tools. The indicator light is useful for seeing if I’m plugged in, and an unexpected but welcome attribute is the supple flexible shielding, which allows for easy routing and movement of the cable. I have been using daily for two months and can say I like this extension cord better than most I’ve tried. Probably wouldn’t be the best in abrasive environments or around sharp metal, as that supple shielding would probably grab.

Very good, sturdy 12 awg extension cord. One outlet in my garage is a 5-20 (meaning 20 amps, not fifteen amps). Recently got first EV car and a Level 1 charger. I found that the typical extension cord for 5-15 outlet (ie, 15 amps) with 14 awg wires ran warm to hot. So bought this cord, which stays cool-warm indicating that it has thicker wires. 👍🏻

Worked great when I needed a heavy duty extension cord for a few months. Price was also better than most other similarly rated cords.

Extension cord. Flexibility in -30C is okay, not fantastic, but what cord is nowadays. Ground pin hasn't fallen out of it yet and I've plugged it in about 50 times so far. Plugs have good tension, slightly on the loose side. Haven't put big amps through it for long to see if it builds heat and discolors the clear ends.
