My (new) all-time favorite corkscrew
I've been searching for a corkscrew that is both attractive and easy to use. Something that I would not feel cheap pulling out at party or picnic, without sacrificing functionality. The HiCoup Waiter's Corkscrew really hits the mark. I now own SIX of them. To start with, it meets all of my expectations for a top quality corkscrew. The "screw" is of the right diameter and sturdiness. The lever is articulated (hinged) allowing for easy two-stage opening. The foil cutter is sharp. And includes a very functional bottle cap opener. The additional "pros" are all nice-to-haves, but they are what make this item a real treat. Prior to this, my go-to opener was the ScrewPull: https://www.amazon.com/Creuset-WT-110-Screwpull-Waiters-Corkscrew/dp/B000GA311Y/ref=cm_cr-mr-title. Not perfection, but good. The HiCoup is superior in several ways. 1) Attractiveness - All of the variants of this item are nice to look at. My preference is the rosewood, but would be perfectly happy with any of the others. By comparison, my reaction to the ScrewPull is ambivalence, inelegant. 2) Bulkiness - The ScrewPull is bulkier and heavier, making it less convenient to slip into your back pocket. The HiCoup, while less bulky still feels solidly constructed and durable. And, yes, I often have a corkscrew in my back pocket. It's shocking how frequently it comes in handy... 3) Stiffness - My biggest objection with the ScrewPull was that the hinge was very tight and hard to open. The HiCoup does not suffer from this. It's not loose, so it's not opening unintentionally, but it's not hard to open. 4) Price - Despite all the advantages over the ScrewPull, the HiCoup is half the price. This allows me to replace all of my super cheap corkscrew so I never have to deal with them again! Simply put, it is the closest I've come to finding perfection in a corkscrew.

What a little lifesaver. Fast and efficient!
I work at a wine bar here in California and the place is always packed to the walls with people. I am constantly busy and we net ~$30,000 a night on weekends just in wine sales. My boss told me I needed to start buying my own wine keys (another name for a corkscrew) so I went online to Amazon. I didn't know if I should take my chances on this corkscrew from HiCoup based on all the 5-star product reviews. How could this simple little tool garnish so many raving reviews? It seemed unreal to me. I also didn't want to drop fifteen dollars on something that I go through so often at my workplace, but I took a chance and bought it anyways. I'm very happy and I do not regret my purchase at all. First day using it was spectacular. The tool itself has the perfect weight. It really feels like you are holding something of quality and craftsmanship. With a nice finish on the wood and a comfortable grip, it works perfectly in a high paced work atmosphere. The double hinge is fast and strong with the first lip usually doing the job if I'm not being lazy. The serrated blade is the best! It cut through even the thickest necks of wine bottles and just *works*. The 'worm' is very cool, with an inline groove running along the corkscrew down to the point. i do not know what this feature is for but it makes my open bottles quickly and efficiently. I would recommend this tool to anyone! I would not spend $35+ on another competitors corkscrew since this one works so well. I plan on owning this for a long time and since the company offers a lifetime warranty on the product, I don't think I'll ever need to replace it. Very happy with my purchase! *TIP* When I first received the item, the hinge between the bottle opener and the handle was very stiff and opening the corkscrew was difficult and annoying. I dabbed a little bit of olive oil onto a rolled paper towel and rubbed some into the two hinges, thus reducing the friction of the metal and fixing my one and only problem. I would recommend doing the same if you're experiencing the same issue.

Best. Corkscrew. Ever.
So I waited 5 months to write the review - I like to get past first impressions... This is by far my favorite corkscrew. I've gone through 2 Rabbits, 3 electric models (all different, and all eventually wind up not ejecting the cork after pulling until the next day), and then a variety of manual models. I still prefer to use a dedicated foil cutter but at least there is a knife should I want to take it on the road to a BYOB restaurant. Here's what I love about it: * It has good heft/weight and looks really nice. Also fits nicely in the hand. * The dual lever is simply brilliant! With the corkscrew in my right hand, my left forefinger presses against the upper lever to remove the cork 1/2". I quickly release, depress the lower lever and remove the remainder of the cork. Super efficient and easy to do. I have NEVER broken a cork or struggled to get one out. I probably pull 400 corks a year so I know I've done over 100 prior to writing this. Unlike some of the reviews you may see, I paid full price for this gadget. Nothing was "given to me" and this is an actual review. You can't go wrong with this one. Enjoy!

a perfect key for those who open many many bottles
I got this wine key for my job as a server where i would be opening many bottles of wine. I was very new to it and had my coworker Try it out and she said it was the wine key from hell. But once I got a hold of it and knew my way around a wine key it became one of the most efficient ones in the restaurant to the point where that same coworker who borrowed it shortly (after I broke it in) asked me where I got it from because it's so good. It feels ergonomic. The grip is nice, sometimes those fully metal ones can hurt your hand. The design is very formal and sleek. I got many compliments on the wood detail. it's sturdy I've dropped it several times and works just as good. I've opened many difficult bottles of wine and it has never failed. The foil cutter is very sharp. I would be careful with that because I did cut myself a couple times.

New favorite personal corkscrew.
I like the corkscrew a lot, BUT the foil cutter isn't the best for me. If it's just me drinking a few glasses from a new bottle, I just take the entire foil off of the bottle so it doesn't matter what the foil cut looks like because I take it ALL OFF. Some folks think it's low class to do so but I like the look of it and not having that annoying piece of foil moving around. However, there are many times where I am drinking with people and want to cut the foil right under the lip and make it clean cut looking. I have found it very hard to do so with this cutter because it is serrated. It will get rid of the foil but looks like crap to be honest.. Hopefully I will get better at it over time. Don't get me wrong this little tool is GREAT! I would choose no other corkscrew for my own personal use, I just keep a legitimate foil cutter around so if I do have people over (what I was talking about above with the jagged cut foil^^^) then I can make it presentable. The corkscrew works very well though. I have tried it in fake cork and real cork, both work great. I like the two part system that helps leverage the cork out without destroying the cork itself. Nice weight to it, wood is good looking and smooth and it also has a place for you to comfortably put your thumb against while using the foil cutter. Overall, great tool. I will update you all if I find a better way to use the foil cutter!

Looks nice and works great
Looks nice and works great. That is about all you can ask from a corkscrew. The Hicoup waiter's corkscrew is a better quality and works better than a lower cost waiters corkscrew I own. The Hicoup corkscrew also has a foil cutter which is a better feature than I thought it would be and my lower cost waiters corkscrew does not have a foil cutter. I've had several kinds of wine bottle openers (two prong cork pullers, wing corkscrews twist and pull corkscrews and cheaper waiters cork screws) and Hiccups waiters corkscrew is the easiest tool to use to open a wine bottle. It took me a couple of bottles to get the hang of how to use this cork screw efficiently, but once yo do, it makes it very quick and easy to open a bottle of wine. The foil cutter is a great feature and works on foil, plastic, everything I've run across. A really great product, high quality, works great, nice designs and you can choose your handle style.

Rosewood Waiters Corkscrew- an excellent buy!
I have had a simple stainless steel waiter's corkscrew similar to the HiCoup Rosewood Waiters Corkscrew for many years and saw this one on Amazon and decided to purchase it based on the reviews as I do for all of my online purchases. It arrived on time and was packages in a nicely designed box, This is a very high quality, well made item. There are no rough edges that would cause injury or damage to clothing if placed in a pocket. The rosewood has a quality, smooth finish that looks very good. The corkscrew works well, grasped the cork easily and with the aid of the fulcrum and lever action lifted the cork out of the bottle with ease. My older corkscrew would tear the cork as I removed it, but this one did not. I did not really need the double-hinged fulcrum as the main one worked very well in pulling the cork almost all the way out of the bottle, but I tried it anyway and it helped to remove the cork completely. I will buy more of these to give as gifts to all my wine drinking friends and relatives. The price is right, the quality outstanding and with the addition to the lifetime guarantee makes it an excellent purchase! Finally, the company seems to have placed a high value on customer satisfaction by sending emails thanking you for your purchase, notifying you of shipment and seeking feedback to ensure you are satisfied with your purchase. They also include two PDF's one for instruction on use of the corkscrew plus an e-book on wine education entitled "The Art of Enjoying Wine" which is very good.

Great product for the price
Great product for the price. I wasn't expecting too much even with the good reviews, but it's constructed very sturdily with thick beefy gauge metal. I was expecting thin and flimsy material and build. And the built in bottle opener is also a great plus and even has a foldable knife too! I was pleasantly surprised with purchase and probably will buy these as gifts along with wine bottles when giving as presents. I wish all the purchases I make in life are like this. Getting more than what you were expecting for the price is a very rare experience these days and HiCoup sure came through with this product. It folds up nicely too and it's esthetically pleasing as well. Good job, HiCoup! Edit : After a few uses, I noticed that the bottom lip or the step on the bottle opener is a tad short, so it keeps on slipping on the bottle cap, instead of getting a full grip to be able to apply proper leverage to get the bottle cap off. This is a slight design flaw though and not a quality issue. Perhaps HiCoup can incorporate this design change so the bottom part of the cap opener gets a firmer grip on the underside of the bottle caps.

So simple to use and so effective.
This corkscrew is very well made and fits the hand beautifully. It is very easy to use and makes cork pulling an absolute doddle.

Bonito y resistente
Buen diseño, resistente y de calidad. Quizá, algo rigido al abrirlo, especialmente la navaja que es difícil de abrir.
