Fluidmaster 400H Universal Toilet Fill Valve, High Performance, 2-Pack

I recently installed the Fluidmaster 400H-5003 Performax Universal Toilet Fill Valve, and it worked great. My toilet was noisy and slow to refill, and this fixed both problems right away.The whole job took me about 20 minutes. But to be honest, most of that time was spent wrestling with the old valve stem. The lock nut on the original valve stem was corroded and took some real effort to remove (make sure you have a hammer and a slot-head screwdriver handy to break the old one). Once that was off, installing the new Fluidmaster assembly was quick and painless. The instructions were clear, and I didn’t need any special tools.After installation, the toilet filled much faster and ran noticeably quieter. I also appreciated being able to adjust the water levels in both the tank and the bowl to get the flush just right.It’s not completely silent while refilling, but the sound is much quieter than before and not a problem at all.Overall, this is a great product that’s easy to install and works exactly as expected. If your toilet’s making noise or slow to fill, this is a reliable and affordable fix.

Easy to install and working perfectly and a good price

I don't recall ever doing this before but it didn't matter as instructions are clear. I just installed them so no comment on longevity or long term performance.It seems to work just fine with the Kohler canister or barrel type flush valves and since only my fill valve needed replacing that's all I did. The original Kohler flush valve is still in the tank and works with this unit.A couple of things I noted.1) the fill tube is not connected to the fill valve in the box so you have to do that which makes 1 part of the instructions unclear. Just attach the tube to the fill valve before you go putting it into your tank.2) I did not need or use the tube connector clips for my toilet, in fact there is no way to use it with the canister flush type so they are in the trash.3) it is louder than the Kohler fill valve but loudness depends on how much water you want/need in the bowl. It is very quiet when you set it to low water, but opening the bowl fill dial makes it noisy. Much noisier than the Kohler for the same bowl fill amount, but this is 1/4 of their price and for the 3 seconds it's fine. I don't flush at night anyway so as to not wake anyone.4) the fill tube is too long and I cut about 1.5" off both tubes for both toilets and it's fine5) only real negative mark is that when you turn your water back on, it flushes out a bunch of black muck from inside the flush valve and into your tank. I don't know what it is but it gets into the toilet bowl obviously after flushing. It didn't stain but it took several flushes and using my hand to swish the water around in the tank to get it all out. I didn't want that sitting at the bottom of the tank because maybe it would end up staining something or causing me a problem down the line. This should be blown out from the factory but it wasn't on either.The knobs to adjust the water tank level and the water bowl level are clearly marked so you don't have to guess and trial and error which way to go. No screwdriver needed like with the Kohler one I had.

I’ve had a toilet for 14 years that I couldn’t get it to flush without holding the handle for 5 seconds. I’ve changed out the guts of the toilet several times. The fluid master was the lucky one that fixed it. Works great and install easy.

I hate plumbing with a passion, mainly because anything I touch it leaks or breaks lol the instructions were super easy to follow and shows pictures in case to really stress about installing. The product was also super easy to work with and does not take long at all to install. A little louder than my previous guts that were in the toilet but that also failed so as long as this product holds up it’s a 10/10 all day.

Cuento con hidroneumático (30-50 psi) en mi hogar, tuve que cambiar mis antiguas válvulas con flotador porque provocaban vibraciones excesivas en las tuberías, estas vibraciones sólo desaparecían cuando cerraba casi por completo la válvula de control angular, lo cual no era conveniente porque tardaba hasta 15 minutos en llenarse el tanque.Encontré esta válvula después de buscar en foros de plomería, pedí esta versión de 2 válvulas, vienen en una caja de cartón perfectamente resguardadas.La válvula es de plástico (PP y POM) de gran calidad, aunque puede parecer frágil al tacto, es muy resistente una vez instalada. La instalación es bastante sencilla (solo ocupé una llave inglesa y el vídeo de instalación en la descripción de este producto).Adjunté un video de su funcionamiento luego de bajar la palanca completamente, llenó el tanque de mi inodoro (4.5 L) en menos de medio minuto y no hubo golpe de ariete (vibración de tubos).Aclaro lo siguiente, no es tan silenciosa como promociona la página de Fluidmaster (pero sí más silenciosa que una válvula de llenado con flotador Fleximatic, como el de la foto), sin embargo, sí llena el tanque bastante rápido y trabaja excelente con alta presión de agua (hasta 125 psi).El producto no es caro en comparación con lo que ofrece (llenado rápido, eficiente con alta presión de agua, silencioso si lo comparas con válvulas de flotador), además tiene garantía de 7 años. LO RECOMIENDO.

This has been a useful purchase and a welcome addition to everyday life. It is practical, easy to use, and does exactly what I hoped it would. I am very happy with it.

Easy to replace and fixed my issue. Float and bowl adjustments were simple to use. Hope it doesn’t scale up as fast as the original.
