I would recommend this for Sony owners. The RC was actually more reliable and less headache than connecting my A6000 to laptop and using Sony's RC app. The device is pretty straight forward in settings, really no steep learning curve to getting started. Within 10 minutes I had setup to do a series of shots for testing astrophotography. Does not appear to use much battery power, still using the original battery I put it. Construction is good, and for $23 I considered this an awesome buy, it would do it again if I every lost mine.

Pretty easy to use, might require a glance at the instruction manual if you have never used an intervalometer, but otherwise it is pretty straightforward. Worked fine with a Sony a7R IV, although locking the shutter on the remote only fires one image for me instead of a burst no matter what settings I tried on the remote and camera. Setting up an interval through the display and running the program worked fine and took pictures all night. Battery life will of course depend on what battery is installed, but the one that came pre-installed had made it through multiple nights of shooting without dying yet, but it is definitely worth carrying spares.

Works perfectly with my a7iii, cord is long enough but not too long where it gets in the way. the size is also really nice, not too small, hides away nicely in my camera bag. Like being able to turn on a back light and it is the perfect brightness. Huge fan of getting batteries with it too

Purchased 2 of these, (always like to have a back-up) for my Sony a7rIII and I'm still using the one I originally started with- so that's good news. Releases function just fine, easy to use. Just one note: Use to have a Canon 5DV and used the more expensive Vello Intervalometer, (carry over from when I had my 5D III). With the Vello model I didn't have to have any batteries installed for the release to work as a simply shutter trigger, press the release and the camera would fire. You only needed to install batteries if using the timing functions or wanted the backlite. The JJC works a little differently, (at least on a Sony camera) if you're using this release as a simply shutter button and don't have batteries installed once you push the trigger the Sony will automatically default to a 2 second delay before taking the picture. It still works it's just not instantaneous. Install batteries turn the unit on and your release with the trigger will now be instantaneous with no delay inserted by the camera. So you pretty much have to have batteries with this unit for the camera to perform as one would expect it to. Can't say this is a fault of the JJC unit or more with how Sony's electronics are designed. Just thought it was worth mentioning.

I have had this remote trigger for 3 months with light usage. I’ve used this about 5 times for none intensive situations - astrophotography and fireworks. Recently, upon removing the usb the head completely bent - mind you I didn’t yank it or pull on it hard. Luckily, I have a replacement coming. However, it works well for the price but the build quality isn’t great by any means! If this is your last solution go for it but don’t expect it to last awhile.

I needed a remote shutter release for my Sony A7R III when taking long-exposure photos.I've had good luck with two other JJC products - a hand strap and a Arca Swiss base plate, so I decided to try their remote shutter release/intervalometer.I've found this works great as a remote shutter release. Having an intervalometer built in was a bonus for me. I may try time-lapse photography at some point, and if I do, I'm ready!

Good product. This is number two for me. I bought JJC wireless setup for my A99ii and was overall pleased with it so I purchased this one for my A6300.My three primary complaints -1) Instructions are printed in micro print. Which I guess is great if you're 17, but not so good if you're 57. They're also not as clear as they could be - this comes from someone who's been interpreting the garbage technology 'manuals' 30 years produced by India and China.2) Quality control - quality in general - seems a little iffy. My first controller has - still - LCD issues. Isn't as bright as the new one and will occasionally fade out. This one seems to be solid. I would seriously consider looking elsewhere if I were a professional. I wouldn't have this product in my kit if I were using it for work.3) The supplied cable is WAY too short. Its perfect if you are going to stand 2' from your tripod/camera setup. Considering what this device is and what its used for, one would think a longer cable would be a normally supplied piece.LCD is reasonably sized and readable even outdoors in the sun. Battery life is pretty good - no complaints. The shape is awkward, slippery and hard to hold onto. I'd much prefer just shaping it like a rectangular remote control and calling it good. Works fine on my A6300 and a99ii.

First off, throw away the junk Chinese batteries that come with this thing. I've read the reviews about "the backlight dies after an hour," and you only have yourselves to blame. This works perfectly well with some decent batteries.This remote works perfectly on my a6000. It does everything I need it to do. It's easy enough to set up and program. You'll likely spend more time figuring out what settings to apply to your camera than you will on how to program the device.
