Very sharp and flexible
Still one of the industry standards for fillet knives. I've had the smaller one for over 30yrs and just got this bigger version as a replacement for another major brand that has issues. This one is no disappointment. It is extremely sharp and a beautiful finish on it.

Sharp, semi-flexible knife
Makes filleting so much easier. Pretty sharp straight out of the package although I did sharpen it with my Lansky set to get it razor sharp. I like the feel of the handle especially when trimming brisket for bbq competition. Good fillet knife that I think is worth the slight premium over the regular, wood handled version.

It works.
The knife feels good in the hand and slices well, though you might have to sharpen it when you get it. I had to. I mainly use it on fish. I bought it for the handle. I've got an old Rapala I've had since last century whose wooden grip was getting loose. That one works too.

Excellent Choice
I think this is an excellent knife. It is sharper than the original rapala from Finland. I like the SS blade. I do not have experience how easy it may be to sharpen. The handle is longer and the material is less likely to slip in your hand as does the original rapala It claims it has Japanese steel but it is made in China I recommend this

Holds a great stainless steel blade, extremely sharp!
High grade stainless steel, holds a very sharp blade! After filleting several rainbow trout, it's still razor sharp!!!!

SHARP!
I buy local whitefish and it has skin on. Nothing like a super sharp flexible blade for separating flesh from skin. Also superb for getting meat from bone on ribs. The girls take exception to gnawing on a baby-backed rib bone at table. They let me, but don't watch.

Se oxida
Está muy cómodo usarlo y ayuda que sea flexible para ir cortando pegado al hueso, el único detalle es que se empiezan a ver marcas de corrosión

Good quality and arrived razor sharp. Sheath looks cheap in the pictures but is strong plastic with a liner that grips the knife firmly. Great value for the price at the time of purchase

Okay
You get pretty much what you pay for. This is the first Rapala filet knife made in China I've ever bought. The quality is not comparable to the older Rapala knives which were sturdier, heavier, had longer blades and were better crafted overall. The good ol' days when Rapala used to be a leading brand seems gone. Now, there's nothing that differenciates it from the other, new brands. The blade is very thin and looks like it may not pass the test of time. It easily bends, and that's not a good sign when it comes down to longevity. The handle however is pretty cool, rubbery, and it makes the knife very easy to handle, won't slip, and also makes easy to wash. The blade is a bit short compared to other filet knives of its type ( including old Rapalas ), so it's mostly recommended for smaller fish or fish like trouts which are easy to prepare. I'm using this knife as my secondary knife, and it's the one I bring along with me wherever I go now, knowing my best knife is resting at home, safe from the risk of being damaged.
