GREAT pack... rugged & comfortable
I looked at various backpacks for a WHILE before settling on the Drago Gear Assault Backpack (OD Green)... and if you ask my wife I checked out TOO many packs before buying this bag. LOL I have to say that I feel that all my research has paid off; this is a really great backpack! I have taken out for a couple of work-related things so far and it's been exactly what I needed in the field.Pros:I can't overstate how big and roomy all the pockets are. Just when you think you can't put any more stuff into this pack, you realize you easily can.It is VERY comfortable to wear and easily adjustable to fit your needs to keep you going with this on your back all day. I thought I'd hate the waist belt, but on my first trip out with it I used it a lot and totally forgot it was ever around my waist. The padding also does a great job of keeping your shoulders and back cool.Rugged and smart construction... not to mention MOLLE loops EVERYWHERE. I don't know if I'll ever use them all, but it gives you options to move and load out as needed. Note: I have yet to see that any of the loops are spaced unevenly as some customers have reported... it's all good on my bag.Drag handle at the top... quality accent.Cons (or, why it didn't get 5 stars):No fuzzy on the outside for morale patches or name tapes. (Note: after giving Drago Gear some product feedback, they told me that they have changed the design and the new Assault packs have patch areas... Kudos to Drago for that!)Would like to have seen the pockets open a bit wider or truly clamshell, but the depth of the compartments kinda makes this a wash for me.I would have like to have had an "admin panel" in one of the smaller compartments; nothing fancy, just a place to hold a couple of pens and a small enclosed pocket of some type. I'm looking at other pouches, etc. to MOLLE onto the outside for this. Again, not a big deal considering the large fuzzy panel and large loops in the medium pocket for CCW or whatever. It's a great bag from a company that stands behind it's product... and they're only getting better. Get a bag the pros use with out the inflated price other tactical companies charge. You'll be glad you did!

Purchased as Bug Out Bag
I like this bag. I've got it packed and ready to go. I'll list the PROS and CONS and then the items I was able to fit into itPROS:1) Expands, so don't freak out when it's all compressed in the box2) Waterproof3) Compartments for storage4) Item was as expectedCONS:1) I'm too fat for the waist belt to fit around me. You'd probably have to be an average of 36-38 at the most.2) I'd like it to be a little bit bigger, but then again...I'm known as an "over-packer"3) I'd like more things on the sides like mesh pouches or places to clip things to itHere is what I have packed in my BOB:First is the Main Compartment:-Rope-Tarp-OFF! Wipes with deet-Bandage kit made of surgical dressings, gauze and burn ointment/wipes-Eight bottles of water-Four bags of freeze dried Mountain View food-New role of duct tape-Ziplock bag with blue health gloves-camping seasonings like salt, pepper, cayenne, sugar etc...-dust masksBottom Zipper Pouch:-Medications from Tylenol, Ibuprofen, NSAIDs, Excedrin Migraine, Anti-diarrheal, Dulcolax, Hydrocortisone cream, Antibiotic ointmentMiddle Zipper Pouch:-Three boxes of camping matches-two lighters-four mylar blankets-five small bricks of wet start for kindling-two pair of wool socks-personal hygiene items like travel sized toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, soap, mouthwashTop Zipper Pouch:-Travel size of Hydrogen Peroxide-self adhesive wrap for wounds-band-aids of all sizes-two small memo notebooks and pens-two bottles of potable aqua pillsCarabiniere to the outside:-Nalgene BPA free cantene-Stanley Steel camping pot for boiling water and making food-Brita Water filter bottle that will filter tap water about 300 times for one bottle (BPA free as well)-Hatchet-Stanley FatMax LED flashlight-Small LED flashlightI will be buying a smaller bag, like a sling or messenger bag to go along with this because I will need it for my Bersa Thunder, ammo for that and my 12 gauge shot gun. I'll also need the extra bag to carry rain gear, a small mess kit and maybe the rest of the food and water I have that I'd want to carry.I wish I could show a picture of what it looks like packed. I can still definitely carry it and the straps are comfortable and wide and I think that will last me from 3-5 days of emergency travel/camping.If I have forgotten anything let me know!
