Caffè Borbone Espresso Pods, Miscela Nera Black Blend, Dark Roast ESE Pods - 50 Count

Best ESE coffee pods I have tried, including better than Lavazza. I usually order the black or blue pods. Black is strongest espresso. Lovely aroma! Makes a nice crema. I am using a cheap 5-in-1 coffee maker/19 pressure bar machine by Hibrew. I also love that machine because it has a specific paper pod ESE filter. These pods will NOT work in a regular espresso machine, as they need the special metal holder that forces water through them and not around the pod. I sold my expensive espresso machine, went with this $140 machine, but I can still make a Keurig plastic pod, regular coffee grounds, etc. I also bought a cheap magnetic hot/cold milk frother. My morning capuccinos rival a coffee house. Also, if you are looking for a great tasting sweetener that doesn't taste like junk and raise your glucose, check out allulose. I put a sprinkle in my milk in the frother. For milk frothing, ultra processed milk works best, even lactose free.

Smooth, delicious, easy to use. I personally prefer the black blend but these were a good second try.

I purchased these espresso pods for my business, and they caused a very serious problem. The coffee extraction was extremely slow — almost no coffee came out of the machine. At first, I honestly thought my espresso machine was broken and needed maintenance. Because I depend on coffee for my business, I even went and bought a new machine, despite the fact that my original machine was only 3 months old and cost me around $1,000. Later, I tried a different brand of coffee pods, and suddenly everything worked perfectly. That’s when I realized the issue was completely caused by these pods, not my machine. This product wasted my time, caused unnecessary stress, and led me to spend money on a new machine for no reason. Very disappointing quality and definitely not suitable for espresso machines if they block or slow down extraction this badly. I would not recommend this product, especially for anyone using professional or business espresso equipment.

My husband likes the smell of the espresso when it brews. The taste is strong & good. He enjoys the espresso.

We have the ESE style attachment for our espresso machine. Just received our new Borbone Black Blend Pods, and they are great. Most people due not consider using a pod a true espresso experience, but for us we enjoy the espresso rather than the experience of "creating" the perfect "pull". For those who feel the same, consider our Caffe Borbane Black choice. You will like the result.

I'm not a coffee expert, so I probably won't use all the right terms, but here goes. My first experience with making espresso at home was with Caffe Borbone "Blue". It was great! I then tried Lavazza (Gran Crema) and Illy (black ribbon) as a comparison, even though they are usually more expensive. After trying those brands, I still liked the Caffe Borbone "Blue" better. So when that supply ran out, I tried the Caffe Borbone "Black". The scant information available seemed to indicate the Black was a mix of Blue and Red (Arabica and Robusta). So after a few lattes made with the Black, I can say that I like it a lot. It is a little more "acidic" than the Blue, but I am guessing that's because it has some Robusta in it. It also packs a bigger punch (caffeine) than the blue. The blue and the black have both been very consistent with their output, as in crema, no thin shots, etc. Overall a very good product and great value.

It takes time and money to form preferences since for the US user you basically have to try 150 count at a time. Firstly, the ESE pod format is underrated in the US. It gives you much better espresso than you get from Nespresso, Lavazza etc. and with more choice. I have had Caffe Borbonne Miscela Bleu, Nero and now Rossa. I like them all. I think that the blue ones were a little mild, but they were still delicious. The Black were always perfect, and the red are a little more robust but I love them too. I have not tried gold or decaf. I have had terrible luck with Illy, which costs twice as much. They always seem to deliver a stale coffee smell when the mylar pouch is opened and then are only palatable to those who add sugar and milk. Personally I drink unsweetened single shots so I can judge without compromise. The Borbone pods can be pulled long and do not begin to introduce bitterness until 1.25 oz. I still recommend you stop at one ounce though. Illy on the other hand runs white and bitter before you ever get to one ounce. I do not understand their reputation at all. In all I have tried six or seven brands and Caffe Borbone is the best for me. And to be able to make espresso with no mess and not have to worry about tamp pressure, measurement, or clean up is just amazing. I use an Italian "Tube" ESE machine.

Het kan product is prima, maar de bezorger van DHL aan de bachweg Amersfoort is ronduit schandalig. Zet het ff bij de voordeur neer, in gebrekkig Nederlands. In dit geval espresso maar kan ook een laptop zijn......

I use an Italian Spinel Ciao machine, and the combination works exceptionally well. The coffee extracts beautifully and produces a smooth, balanced espresso with plenty of character. What keeps me coming back is the consistency. Every bag tastes just as good as the last, which isn't always the case with coffee. Whether it's my first coffee of the morning or an afternoon pick-me-up, it never disappoints. For anyone looking for a genuine Italian-style espresso experience at home, this is an easy recommendation from me.
