Tyre Glider - The Original Bicycle Tyre Lever | Suitable for All Tire Widths | Professional-Grade, Reinforced & Patented Bike Tire Tool

I had to replace one tire on each of two bicycles. Of late, my talent for using tire irons has deteriorated into too many punctured tubes punctured by misplaced tire irons. I saw this item and bought one. I'm left handed and bought the left handed version of this lever. I'm glad I did that. One of the tires was really tight and I needed all the push I could muster. The first bike had a reasonably sized tire for the rim and it went on really easily. The second bike had a tight tire that I wondered if it would go on at all without being destroyed. I followed the instructions about keeping the bead loose around the tire but the last 8 inches was still a huge struggle. What I liked was that I could see where I was as I worked around the tire and could keep an eye on making sure the tube didn't get in the way. When it did, I could stop, back up and reposition the tube before I damaged it. The last 8 inches still boiled down to a moment of truth. I was either going to succeed or wreck the tire. I pushed through it and it went on. I was able to check the status of the tire bead after I'd pushed through those last 8 inches. In fact I could go around the whole tire and see there was no bead or sidewall damage. I don't want to think about how I'm ever going to get this tire off again. Still and all, the tire lever worked and I'm really pleased. Five stars for sure.

This thing makes installing bicycle tires so EASY. I even mistakenly bought a left-handed one and am still able to get the job done with little effort. Be careful if using with TPU tubes, I accidentally tore one but it was my fault.

Make sure you order the right one for you, I don't know how I ended up ordering the left one... But is a nice tool!

I had a really tough job to do; mount a Continental GP 5000 AS tubeless tire on a Bontrager rim. I was close to giving up and sending the tire back when I found out about this tool. Pretty pricey for less than an ounce of plastic, but ti did the job!

It doesn't really help seat the tire. However it does help keep the tire in the rim while you use normal tools to pry the tire over the rim. Keeps the tire from slipping while you doing this. The only reason I gave 3 stars.

Makes putting on super tight tires a lot easier. Not intuitive to know how it work, but if you watch an instructional video it is very simple. The best tire tool I own.

Really makes removing and installing tire quite easy.

I saw a video about this thing and decided to give it a try. And it’s useful, mostly. For removing a tire, I’m sticking with the tried-and-true Park tire levers — those blue ones with the hook on the end that come in a set of three. Get one of those in place, hook it on a spoke, work another one around the rim, and you’re usually in business. Maybe it’s just me, but for me that still removes a tire better than using this thing. But installing a tire? That’s where this gizmo really shines. It takes a little getting used to (there is a video, of course) but once you’ve got the hang of it, these things work as well or better as anything else I’ve used; I’ve pretty much retired my bead jack. The key is that the Tyre Glider lets you use your body weight to help stretch the bead and seat the tire on the rim. The design also helps make sure, if you’re using a tube, that the tube stays inside the tire and doesn’t get pinched on the rim during installation. And it’s small enough to toss in a seat bag. You’ll notice that they sell these things in “right hand” and “left hand” versions. Basically, that comes down to which direction the tool works in — clockwise (right handed) or counterclockwise (left handed). If you’re buying the Tyre Glider for your home shop, think about getting one of each. For the usual pain-in-the-butt tight beads, like the Gatorskins that my wife uses, one Tyre Glider will do the job. But if you have a tire that is really giving you a hard time, it can help to install one in each direction and alternate moving them toward each other. I had a pair of gravel tires (Vittoria Terreno 700x40c) that were giving me fits, and using a pair of these turned out to be the way to go.

I do not normally leave reviews but felt compelled to do so having just used this wonderful device. No more having bleeding fingers trying to pull the tyre bead over the rims. This made it so easy and what normally takes an afternoon of swearing and cursing took a matter of minutes. I’d highly recommend anyone with a bike to get this.

Lijkt handig, alleen komt de binnenkant bij het er op leggen van de band regelmatig tussen de tool en de velg. Dan scheurt de binnenband. Verschillende filmpjes bekeken en opties geprobeerd alleen blijft precair. Geen aanrader.

A great tool for a novel tyre changer. Just need to aware if you need right hand or left hand.
