Best knife ever!!
OMGosh!!! Best knife I've ever used!!! So sharp cuts clean through tomatoes without smashing them. I never realized how crappy my knives were until I used this! BEWARE - this knife is extremely sharp!! I've managed to nick myself a few times. I hand wash this knife all the time. I never put it in the dishwasher. I read somewhere it isn't good for knives. Straight out of the box, I could tell this was going to be awesome, the weight and feel of it in my had was very comfortable. The handle is very sturdy and made of wood. The blade is perfectly balanced and is very sturdy. I've been using it for a while before I made this review, so I could honestly post my opinion. It is also a nice thickness. It was packaged so nicely that I kept the box to store it. I am extremely happy with this purchase and would highly recommend it to everyone!

Great beginner knife!
Super shape out of the box but will need whetstone sharpening about every other week to a month depending on how often you use it/what you’re cutting with it. I’m a sushi chef and have a lot of fun using it at work but it’s definitely not for skinning whole loins or slicing sashimi. Get you a nice yanagiba for that. But it’s perfect for slicing through rolls and has that classic Japanese look and feel. The grip of the octagonal shape of the handle feels a little sharper than others I have (similiar style set) but I’m sure will smooth out as I use it more. Great blade shape! Performs kind of like a short fat chefs knife or like a chefs mixed with a santoku so you get best of both worlds for cutting technique! Nearly perfect balance for nice stability when using. Excellent quality for the price and look! Instant classic and one of my favorite new toys already! My only wish is that I wish it came with a felt lined sheath or wooden sia. I’d pay $5 more for the standard sheath or $10 more if it came with a sia that fit! But seeing as we’re on the cheap things delivery app it’s easy to just buy something from another brand.

Still use to this day
Bought this months ago and it remains one of my favorite kitchen knife’s. It cuts with such ease. I do hand wash all my knives which is probably why it looks the same as when I first got it. Highly recommend!

The knife is razor sharp and of good quality. The value for buck is spot on for this product. I’ll order another as a gift for someone.
