Boomer Ball for Dogs | 8 inch | Assorted Colors

My 1 year old (90lb, super energetic) german shepherd puppy LOVES this ball. The Boomer ball's smooth and hard plastic makes it very DURABLE, even against my dog's teeth which seem to so easily shred every other toy he has. It's about the size of a bowling ball, so my DOG CANNOT PICK IT UP... THIS IS A GOOD THING!! It means he cannot 1. get it stuck in his mouth, or 2. chew it up or make those awful grooves in it with his teeth which would make the ball sharp as happens with many other hard plastic dog toys. Plus, the fact that he cannot pick it up with his mouth makes it all the more addictive and challenging for him. He bats it with his paws and pushes it around with his nose, or tries (with fail) to grab it with his mouth. However, because it is so LIGHT WEIGHT, the boomer ball doesn't leave him with swollen or bloodied paws or nose as many have said happens with the jolly ball Jolly Pet 14-Inch Push-n-Play, Purple . It's pretty noisy inside when it's being rolled into walls all the time, but it's not heavy, so it won't do damage to our home. Likewise, I can play soccer (kicking the ball to/for my dog) without fearing it would harm my dog if it hits him. (granted I don't kick it that hard since it's made of plastic instead of rubber.) It does have some engraved parts for the logo, but so far, my dog hasn't gotten his teeth in them. I imagine he could if he pinned it in a corner just right. I would absolutely recommend the boomer ball for dog owners. JUST MAKE SURE YOU GET A SIZE THAT IS BIGGER THAN CAN FIT IN YOUR DOG'S MOUTH WHEN OPEN TO ITS MAXIMUM. (my german shepherd uses the 8x8x8 (large) boomer ball.)

Our Aussie loves and adores this ball! We have purchased so many herding balls, and they have never lasted more than 24 hours - even with supervision. This ball appears to be indestructible! He gleefully chases it around and around the yard. Perfection!

This is a great product. I received it prett quickly. It has a nice weight to it and pretty sturdy as far as I can tell. I have a mini aussie (around 30lbs) and he LOVES his new ball. He just chases that thing back and forth in the backyard herding it til he tires himself out. He lays beside it for a few minutes to rest a few minutes and goes at it again!! Since we just received it, I'm not sure of its longevity just yet. But I will be sure to update this review down the line! Overall AWESOME product!! **UPDATE 6/5/20** I have decided to dock 1 star for this ball, because even though this ball is still functional and my dog still loves it to death, I've had a couple conserns with it. 1, its gotten pretty beat up from my dogs teeth/claws as he chases it around making it bounce in rocks & other outdoor surfaces thay the surface very rough. 2, because the ball is made of hard plastic and the rough texture it has now, the top of my dogs snout and the tip of his nose are pretty much rubbed raw as he noses it around playing. And sometimes his nose looled a little swollen to me. I had to take it away from him after a while so he wont injer himself or make his nose bleed! I got a solid 6 months before I noticed any of these conserning things. I've tried other balls but this one seems to be my dog's favorite toy ever. I think I might just have to watch him closer and limit his time with it.

Oh my gosh, my Aussie loves this ball. Totally worn this high energy puppy out because he had to figure out how to herd it rather than pick it up and chew it. Absolutely wonderful toy for a high IQ herding dog!!

I bought my dog this ball back in 2023 or 2024. It was the best purchase I could’ve ever made for her. There is not a toy in the world that compares. Unfortunately, my husband did accidentally run it over with his truck, so it is finally out of commission lol. I will be buying a new one ASAP because it is her all time favorite toy. She is a Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix and it’ll keep her entertained for so long. I cannot recommend it enough.

This ball is sturdy, but my dog got so mad that he couldn’t get it in his mouth that he scraped big gashes in it in the first 5 minutes trying - which then cut his nose while he relentlessly pushed it around the yard barking and crying at it. He got so frustrated and upset that he was drooling (which he’s never done). In 10 minutes he had gone from excited to completely stressed out, like he had lost his mind, and had a swollen snout for 2 days afterwards. We had to take it away from him! He’s a bully mix and balls are his absolute favorite things in the world. We so wanted for this to work out, as he is a super chewer and few toys last very long, he just couldn’t handle it.

When i bought this ball the picture showed the ball covered by the netting around it,i did not realize that it had a rather wide seam down the center of it.My dog played with this ball for all of 15 minutes (supervised)he loved it,was hutting it like a football then chasing after it.The ball is made of a VERY HARD PLASTIC!!! I brought him in and he started to climb the steps and i caught him as he was falling backward,since i was behind him i just thought he was worn out from playing,i then noticed he was walking very slow and odd.My daughter and i decided to check him out and we saw what we thought was blood on the inside of one of his thighs and on both legs,i grabbed a soft cloth and soap water wiped the area's no blood,he was SKINNED the seam of this ball almost tore the hide off of him,then we noticed a lump on his leg (bruise) then noticed blood on his paw where he evidentally caught one of his nails in one of the divets.I cried for buying a toy that hurt my baby boy! I called the seller Petstore and reported what had happened also sent emails and refund request,they told me it was a manufacturer's issue and to contact them which i did and was advised that i would be receiving a call from the company manager,manager never called,i tried calling back several times got a machine telling me to call back later.Filed an Amazon A to Z claim, was denied reason being that item had to be unopened and in original packing and new condition.I called amazon and they are filing an appeal for me,i will post the result in an update.Dangerous product,terrible customer service,terrible return policy,perhaps i should ask the Attorney my daughter works for what i should do about this before another Dog is injured by this product!!

I ordered one since I wasn't entirely sure if the size or ball would be suitable for my dogs, it's listed as large but with no measurements. I have two Australian Cattle Dogs (50lbs), and can confirm the large is the perfect size for them. It's a too large for them to chew or mouth but is lightweight and durable as advertised so they can easily push it. I'm both concerned and confused about the reviews stating the ball is too hard and hurting their dogs nose, it's meant to be pushed on the ground by the dog with its muzzle or paws and does so rather effortlessly. It's not meant to be tossed/kicked and headbutted or caught which is the only circumstance I can see this injuring your dog if they don't damage it and cause sharp plastic to become raised. I ordered a second one as both dogs were super happy to play with it. I really wish I knew these had existed sooner since they pop/destroy almost every other ball we've tried except the JW Hollee rollers but those are meant to be carried whereas this ball doesn't need active participation from the owner.

I bought this for my patterdale terrier, she is an extremely hyper dog and a herding ball was recommended to me by her trainer. She is OBSESSED with this ball and I was hoping I had finally found a toy that she could wear herself out with, without too much intervention from me. Well, she certainly wears herself out, but because the ball is about the size of a football it gets stuck in corners, nooks and crannies and she literally screams until you release it for her. We have a very big garden, so I stacked wood in most of the corners so the ball can’t as easily become stuck, but it still gets caught up sometimes around bushes or trees. On that note, I recommend the biggest version you can afford (this seller doesn’t offer really big ones and they’re VERY expensive elsewhere). They are very lightweight, so even a small dog could push a big one around. My dog is about the size of a tall JRT and manages fine. I wouldn’t buy the smaller one again (8inch), for the reasons mentioned above. In terms of quality, she can’t get her chops round it (though she tries), so I can’t imagine she will destroy it anytime soon. It is all scratched up and pitted from lots of play, so it collects dirt easily, but I just run it under the hose after each use. I hide it in a cupboard when we are not using it (I get tired of retrieving it from corners and listening to her scream when it’s stuck) and she will sit in front of the cupboard and whine until I get it out again - so, a great toy that your dog will love, but expect to offer lots of help with play if you’re using it in a fenced in space. We don’t take it to the park because she dribbles it too far, often into people, and we almost lost it once when she dribbled it right into a river and it was no easy task to retrieve it.
