The main reason for purchasing this product is because my neighbor is finally cutting down a very large maple tree in their backyard. I’m concerned with the wood chips from the chainsaw getting into my filter as the tree is cut down. Well the tree came down and yes the socks do as advertised. The sock became very brown. I think it was sap from the tree or very fine dust from the cutting. Needless to say, I seen air bubbles coming out of the return lines. This was happening because the sock was so heavily soiled that the pump was drawing more air than water. You shouldn’t allow it to get to this point because air to the pump creates cavitation with a centrifugal pump. Cavitation is not good. So... it’s wise to keep an eye on the sock when there is an evolution like tree cutting is in progress. The socks work as advertised. They will also fit a range of skimmer basket. Don’t bother asking what size skimmer basket. I didn’t ask and I have a large basket and it fit. If you have a legitimate question then fine ask away. But I get too many ridiculous questions when I’m asked to answer questions. Sorry that’s how I feel. Update: 31 JUL 2020 What was captured by the sock mentioned above is wrong. This is what’s captured/filtered on a normal basis. The second sock used days after the tree was taken down looked the same as the first sock. This is what’s on the surface of the water and I don’t live in an industrial area. The sock is an amazing product. But, you have to check it at least daily, other wise your return lines will have air bubbles coming out and like I said, a cavitation pump is not good. It takes time, but a impeller pump can be destroyed from cavitation. You’ll initially have minor to more serious pitting on the impeller to eventually the pump will eat itself. The sock is a great product and does as advertised.

These work perfectly on my filter basket and effectively catch all the pollen.

I bought these skimmer socks on a whim because I was going on a trip and didn't want my pre-filter in my pump to fill up with debris as fast as it normally does. I'm extremely pleased with the simplicity and performance of these basket socks. Not only do they capture the standard stuff like leaves, this finer mesh grabs pollen, algae, ants, and all sorts of other stuff that would normally be going right to my large filters. Pros: - filters smaller debris keeping your primary filters cleaner for longer - easy to put on and take out - inexpensive way to save time and keep your pump running efficiently Cons: - they don't last super long and need to be changed fairly regularly - not reusable. They are intended as single-use items, so this one isn't a big deal, but might be if you're trying to reduce waste.

Saw this on an above ground pool site and gave it a try. Great for the beginning of the season when there is a lot of pollen. Less pollen in the filter is a win for me. I wouldn’t leave it in the filter for days without taking it out and rinsing it off or placing a new one. I find you can reuse it a few times with just rinsing it off. Easy to use, I just wrapped it around my filter basket and changed it/rinsed it every 8 hours or so. Only needed to use at the beginning of tge season with the small particles.

With a forest of trees around it, coastal winds that blow every afternoon, and seasonal "Santa Ana" winds that always howl from the opposite direction, it is always been hard to keep litter out of my swimming pool. Fine grit would make its way through the skimmer, through the pump, and into the filter to the point where I had to take apart and clean that filter at least every other month-- a job that is way too laborious for a woman my age. I thought about using old knee high stockings to line the skimmer so fine debris would not go through it, but though the right idea, they were way too small. Finally, I came across these, and they are absolutely perfect!!! I line the skimmer basket with them, and when I have to remove the basket to vacuum, I have another device with a "storage tank" that I install between the vacuum hose and the skimmer hole and is just the right size for putting one of these "socks" in that storage tank for the same purpose. It catches all the debris that gets vacuumed from the bottom of the pool so that it doesn't end up in the pump and ultimately the filter, too. A really economical lifesaver for my back, I now only have to clean that filter twice a year! Try them. They are definitely worth the purchase!

Cost effective in many ways. Cheaper than smaller packs at retail stores. I rinse them out every day which gives you week or better on each sox. Reduces number of back flushes on your filter, using these with a quality filter cleaning chemical during flush extends the life of your sand filter media. We have lots of cottonwood trees that most of the spring and summer looks like snow in the air. These sox keep that fuzz out of your filter. That stuff clumps in the sand doesn't flush well and reduces efficiency of the filter. They also keep all the other things out of tour filter like bugs, leaves and such. Highly recommend. Just need to check daily cause a sudden storm or fall leaves I'll plug it up and your pump will increase suction and bust your pool slimmer basket. That's not good for your pump seal integrity either. So if your good at checking your pool every day or two(providing no storm have occurred to send leaves flying) these can make you pool and filter maintenance cost better.

Get the sand out of your pool! Our sand filter threw out a ton of sand when we first turned it on for the first time and our pool was so cloudy you could not see the bottom. I remembered seeing a hack years ago about using a pair of panty hose to do this. I am so happy to have found these in my desperate search to find the best and fasted way to get all that sand out! I 100% recommend these to anyone and everyone with a pool!

We got a huge lab who loves to swim so I figured I’d try these. They remove hair and sand and any other fine particles out of the water before they can clog up the filters or contaminate our sand. When they get full you just grab them and toss them out. They are cheap enough that I don’t try and reuse them. For skimmer use they last a week or so. On the kreepy krawley knock off vaccuum I use one in the leaf canister we added and they last one use and then they are usually full of all the fine junk you didn’t know was on the bottom of your pool. Will definitely be buying more when we run low. Makes pool maintenance easier and the water clearer.

I put them in my skimmer basket to collect a lot of stuff that would normally go into your sand filter , so you don’t have to backwash as often. They work great !! I tried to order more but they weren’t available !!
