StrongTek Wooden Under Desk Footrest, 3 Heights, 400 lb, Anti-Slip, Natural

This comes ready to be made but as is often the case the instructions are not up to snuff. They are basic and if you've built furniture before you're not going to have any trouble. If you're new to building furniture, here's what you need to know. Do not screw the the sides in too tightly to the front and back pieces, because you will need to put in the dowel that raises and lowers the foot rest. If you tighten everything up and then try to insert the dowel, you will have to unscrew the sides to get the dowel in. The two front and back pieces have a little bit of metal in them, I don't know why, and this goes inside, that is when you get finished these should not be seen. I put the piece with the words StrongTek in the back. I don't think it matters which one goes in the front or the back. There is a tool to screw in the screws that works well. All the holes were in the right place and took the screws very well. This is an excellent foot rest and works well under the desk or at a chair. It has good stability and is durable and a great value for the money. It looks good and the parts are well made.

It’s a durable, heavy, well‑made product, and overall I’m happy with it. My only real complaint is the footboard rest, it doesn’t stay in place. If you accidentally move your feet or try to adjust your position, it slips out and you have to bend down every time to fix it. installation was easy and the adjustments are simple.

I actually bought 3 of these - 1 for under my office desk and 2 for out in the living room to use with wood furniture. These footrests are incredibly comfortable and adjustable to the proper height/angle for comfort. Unlike the plastic ones that are so prevalent, these actually look like furniture. Putting them together was a bit of a challenge; the instructions were not as clear as they might have been, and it was often necessary to turn pieces around the other way to make them better secure. But, once assembled, they are terrific. They are able to withstand a great deal of weight as one pushes against them to get better positioned in the chair. I recommend these as comfortable, ergonomic furniture.

The product itself is sturdy, constructed well, and serves its purpose. The only reasons for the deduction of a star are: The directions are not as clear as they make themselves out to be. “Follow these 3 simple steps to put them together,” then they proceed to jam a longer step process into 3 steps, so it is visually confusing. It’s also a bit of a pain to do with just one set of hands at first. You should put the little metal spacer/dowels into the sides first, NOT the rubberized base like it states as the holes on it are much more loose than the sides so they don’t stay. Then attach the support 2x4 looking pieces of wood to one side via screws, then put the base that has the rubber non slip coating facing up in the middle connected to the mini metal dowel/spacer, and finally you can attach the other side piece of wood with screws to complete it, lining up the other mini metal dowel/spacer, then add the long wooden dowel and set your height. That’s when I recommend adjusting the strap for the cushion and putting it on, clipping it around the bottom pieces and the base so it wont slip, if you don’t adjust the strap before the height is set it will be loose and you’ll be frustrated that it slides around while you’re trying to plant your feet. Beyond that, the height can be a tad frustrating to adjust as the “rungs” routed out of the sides that the dowel rests on are just bigger than necessary to take it out if you want to to flatten out the height. That being said, when adjusting the dowel, it can pop out of one side, as well as the fact that you have to bend down under the desk to do so, or pick the whole thing up and do it, so that process isn’t something you can do while sitting and using it, but once you set the height it won’t just bounce out of the resting place for no reason. Finally, one of the middle 2x4s in my particular order wasn’t fully finished, one of the edges was rough and unfinished/unstained, but it was the correct size and thank God, the holes for the screws were not misaligned. Overall it was worth the money, it does it’s job so far. I can’t speak to longevity or if it has any benefits besides being a place to rest your feet, raise your knees, and make sitting at your desk more enjoyable, but it does just that! For larger feet, (I’m a US 10.5 in Men’s) or someone who wants to spread their knees apart further when they sit/recline, it’s only about a foot and a half long so I’d go with something a bit larger if you want more coverage to move around while still keeping your feet planted. 4/5 stars, 8/10 overall! Outstanding product. Very easy to put together. Sturdy to use. Worth the cost.

It's comfortable

Didn’t like putting together, though works well as intended and looks good. My feet are properly propped up with a comfortable cushion. Some plastic dowel support pieces were broken when received and I didn’t buy it used. Not structural, but would have liked them. Construction instruction is not as easy as 1,2,3 but it’s intuitive and you can figure it out. Have to take apart the product to add/remove the provided cushion that clips around the foot rest board. Not difficult but annoying.

This is great! Feels really well made and you have three different tiers depending on desk and chair height.

Ce repose-pieds correspond à mes attentes. En bois, il a belle allure dans mon salon mais surtout il me permet d’avoir les pieds surélevés donc de caler les lombaires. Ses 3 positions de réglages, très simples à changer, permettent de l’adapter à différentes assises. A noter que la notice de montage est en anglais ou allemand mais avec les dessins, c’est simple et suffisant.

At this price it is sturdy, looks good and does the job well. Four screws required to be screwed in by supplied hex tool. Quite easy.

I had tried tilted foot rests before but couldn't find the right surface that would keep my transcription foot pedal from sliding off. I like the sturdy design of this. It's not plastic, and actually matches the oak grain of my desk. It was relatively simple to put together (hint: assemble one side and then the other; the instructions make it look like you should assemble both in the same step.). I'm thrilled with it. The covering is scratchy, like an emery board. It keeps my pedal in its place. With my previous homemade footrest, I was always adjusting it and making sure it didn't fall off the back.

Por el diseño que tiene y al estar hecho de madera, es un producto muy sólido, no se deforma si apoyas los pies en los lados como pasa en la mayoría de los que están hechos de plástico. Hay que tener paciencia al montarlo porque las instrucciones no son concretas ni específicas, hay que estar atento.
