I pulled the trigger on an induction range but was worried about the smooth glass surface getting scratched. I read about these mats and decided to get them. Best accessory for my induction range. My child always says “Dad’s not cooking unless something is boiling over.” These mats are great. I’ve had them for a year and they work like a champ. When I clean the glass surface, it shines with no scratches (so far … fingers crossed). I have a friend that’s getting an induction range soon and I’ll definitely recommend these to him.

When we recently switched to an induction cooktop we found that the surface, like any glass cooktop would be subject to scratches if the cookware had any sort of rough textures. In addition, when cooking on an induction cooktop. You can often find yourself sliding a pan around while you're stirring it and the pans will shift because the glass is so smooth. These silicone mats have a double feature in that they protect the cooktop, but they also give you a non-skid surface for your pans to sit on so they don't move around as you stir or manipulate the food. These mats do a great job of protecting the cooktop and keeping your pans from sliding around. They are easily cleaned in the dishwasher or hand washed. No issues there. A. I needed this to protect surface from cast iron pan. It works but be reminded to keep temp to 400 at most. There was some smoke from the mat which I found out is typical.

We moved into a new house with an induction cooktop. I'm a fan of cast iron cookware and was afraid the cast iron would scratch the shiny new cooktop.
