Works Great
I have used these PetSafe Collars for years now. We have used them on various dogs as they have need them. It is easy to set up and teach the dog where their perimeter is. I like that we can set it up for a smaller perimeter in the winter and then give them more room in the summer. The 'shock' strength is also nice to be able to adjust. Little dogs need less reminder than the big dogs. This system also works with multiple collars at once and the whole system itself is easy to set up and get started keeping your dog safe.

EASY to setup and use! Amazing results in a few days!
I live on a farm with a really old lab and two dachshunds, one adult and one puppy, all of which can be very stubborn. I cannot physically fence my yard, even underground, for several reasons. For more than 10 years I have had to put my dogs out one at a time on a chain cause they all immediately run for the neighbor's yard which has yummy chickens to eat. It was a long, time consuming process just to get them out in the morning before work. When we got the puppy, things just got worse.Enter the PetSafe Stay and Play fence. Buying the base unit & collar, with two extra collars was expensive but I considered it an investment in my sanity. I even got a stubborn dog collar, thinking that either my male dachshund or elderly lab might need it. I picked a weekend, read the training manual and followed it. Within the first 2 days, all three dogs understood their boundaries and I only had to use the first level of correction. I was SO excited. I continued on with the training as much as I could over the next few days while working. Some days they all only got one training session, but I was shocked at the results. The first time I tried them off leash, all 3 dogs behaved and stayed inside the boundary zone. They ran and ran, tumbled and played and got to be dogs. And now I can let all three out at the same time with no restrictions. They love it when I snap on their collars. BEST product ever!!One little tip.... We have a driveway that crosses the boundary zone. We could not place flags on the driveway to show visual reminders of the boundary. So we spray painted small white lines across the driveway. Just dots really, and the dogs respect it. Both of my runners have stopped running to the neighbor's. Yay!!UPDATE: All three dogs still respect the line. Lately I've even forgotten to put their collars on in the am, and they still stay in the boundaries. Best investment ever!!

Perfect solution for our boxer.
I have been very happy with our wireless containment system. The rechargeable collar is great! After about 2.5 years it didnt hold a charge as well. I bought a new one and swap them. Our boxer caught on very quickly and is very respectful of the boundaries. I have 2 bases to make his area larger. I highly recommend. They are pricey but ours has been a lifesaver.

Very cost effective wireless fence
I finally had to replace my receivers (2 of them) due to age, wear and tear. One lasted 4 years, and the other lasted 2 years (broke due to over tightening contacts. Excellent device works beautifully with the 3/4 acre perimeter I established. Very cost effective. The reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 was because the older one stop giving the audible warning beeps prior to correction, and the plastic casing began to just deteriorate and crumble in brittle manner. It was no longer water proof and not working properly. I am assuming after years of use, the dogs(my yellow lab) his body oils began breaking down the plastic. Don't know for sure. I have no explanation for this. It was out of warranty. There was no point of contacting maker. I would have to purchase a new one anyway. And so I did. I programed it just as I did the old one. The audible beep was back and now my dog is kept in check on my property. (within 4 acres)*One word of caution. If you have little ones, children grandchildren etc. they need to be kept away from transmitter because they will spin the range dial and just mess up your settings and when your dog is used to a certain distance he'll get zapped prematurely and with in a the smallest diameter traumatizing him. Funny in way but not so funny for my lil buddies. No harm though.Training was a bit challenging using the book method. They were so used to roaming free that they did what they wanted to do what they like to do best, run, play swim etc. I followed instructions, lost patience, but finally Iet nature train them. The lab was set at level 5 because he is stubborn, and the Boston Terrier at 3. I let them loose and zap! They high tailed it back to the house. I watched them over the course of one afternoon and they blew my mind how quickly they figured out the boundary! They also figured out the audible beep and they turn around. Now I go to work around dawn and come home and they are still there. They don't pursue mail delivery person anymore.(Not aggressively.) and they don't dare wander to the edge of the woods anymore. 3/4 acres is a lot of space for those dogs. The squirrels, rabbits and deer mock them though because they can't lay chase. lol It's worth it. It was cheaper that doing the more expensive in ground version which I prefered but had to keep things within a budget. Buy it you really won't buy a better tool for the money.

Love this system. Easy to set up and teach.
I have 2 dogs one is a 9 year old Australian shepherd who recently moved into the house and a 3 year old white German shepherd. Both are long haired. The older one kept talking off down the road and then the younger one started following. I was afraid they would get hit by a car. A friend has an in ground fence that he said works great with his 2 big dogs but I don't have the time to bury the fence so I thought I would try wireless. Another friends' family recommended the stay and play. When I got the transmitter and receivers and read the instructions it said to train the dogs 15 minutes 4 times a day for 14 days before letting them go on their own. I don't have time for that either so it sat on my counter for a while until out of fear for their safety I decided to just give them a crash course. I set up the flags and took each dog individually on a leash to learn the boundaries. The Ausie caught on quickly that I was listening for the beep to turn around and was soon turning before me in the first session. It took two days and one good correction when she wanted to chase the horse for the younger one to catch on. Still it only took a weekend to get them both where I could trust that they wouldn't cross the boundaries. Now I just turn the collars on and let them out in the morning. I can watch them on the outdoor cameras while I get ready for work. I never have to worry about them getting hit or running off where I can't find them. They are always waiting at the door when I go to let them in which is a time saver in the morning. In the afternoon they can go out and play as long as they want and I don't have to stay out there the whole time. I love this fence! I recently purchased a third collar for my son's 8 month old terrier that stays with us when he is traveling for his work. She loves to run off into the dark woods at night and I'm afraid a coyote will get her. I can't wait for it to get here.Downside to this system is that if there is a power outage the dogs will receive a correction. It times out in 15 seconds but still I don't feel comfortable leaving the collars on all day when I'm not home or during a storm.

UPGRADE from 3yo PetSafe Collar
We purchased the PetSafe “Free to Roam” wireless fence kit in October 2019. No issues so far with the radar dome, but the collar plastic cover broke in 2021. I was able to superglue it back together but it stopped working, even with a new battery in February 2022.We ordered a replacement and this one arrived in March 2022. The plastic cover seems to be the same so I’m going to knock it down a couple stars anticipating that we’re going to watch it break again in another couple of years. I’ll update my review if that happens. The upgrade I observed is that this one has a rechargeable battery. The original one we had required replacement batteries at about $8 per pair on Amazon at the time of this post. I only had to buy one set of replacement batteries in the 2.5 years we used the first one. So far, we’re still on the original charge after 2 months of use so it seems to hold up well. Hopefully we will be able to get several recharge cycles before it doesn’t charge. I see some reviews that we can expect 4 years.Overall, at $160 at the time of this post, it seems a tad pricey, but given the features and peace of mind it makes sense. We can let our dog, Archie, out and he stays within the bubble, never going outside of it except for that first time in 2019 when we set it up. He is always excited when we put it on. As you can see from the picture, the only thing more exciting is when he knows it’s time for dinner and wants to come in!

Excellent fence system. Long lasting electronics
I have purchased a number of products from pet safe and been very pleased with all of them. I changed to a wireless fence system when I moved 8 years ago and have had no problems with it. No wires to break in Vermont winter frost heaves ( a problem with the last wired system. The operators are very knowledgeable and good at problem solving, although I’ve not needed them with the wireless system. The collars are easy to recharge. Just had to replace the one that my difficult dog was wearing. He tests the system regularly, so it got a lot of use. The 3/4 acre area available with the top model is the right size for me. Unless they have updated the system, if you want more area (I had 5 acres on the wired system) you would have to get a wired system. I know there are now GPS driven collars with more flexibility, but this system is literally plug it in and go. Highly recommended

Great for Small Dogs on a Large Property
We live on one of the gulf islands in British Columbia. Our property is mostly in Douglas firs but have a large open area around our house. When we started to breed small terriers we recognized that we would have to fence some of the area. We learned of the invisible fence which originally required burial of a cable in the lawn. Our dogs were provided with collars that would give the dog a small harmless 'buzz' . Within a few years the buried cable was replaced with a radio transmitter that would provide a gentle signal to the dog. The transmitter can be adjusted for range and intensity of the 'reminder' so that small dogs like ours would receive a more gentle reminder than a larger dog. We have used the collar with great success since. We highly recommend them.

Excellent Pet System
I have used this system for approximately 10 years and I can't say enough good stuff about it. However, the new collars that are rechargeable and do not use batteries do not last as long as the battery collars. I have just had to replace my rechargeable collar that I purchased February 2022 because it stopped working. For the price of the collar I think that it should last longer than 18 months.

Works wonderfully
I have four Shih Tzu. Two were trained to stay on my property, but my two young males would bolt through the neighbourhood at the first chance. We bought the pet safe stay wireless pet fence and I was so surprised at how effective this product was. As the dogs approach the area of the boundary there’s a gentle beep. The beep continues more loudly, if the dogs do not respond. If they cross the area, they get a slight jolt. It didn’t take my two fellows long to learn that at one beep, they should turn around and came back. After one session they don’t wander off the property. I love this product. I highly recommend it. It saved me thousands and thousands of dollars because we were considering installing an electric fence but this works great.

great product if money does not matter to you
these collars are great. gets 4 stars instead of 5 because of the ridiculously high price. based on materials and construction, i estimate their retail value at about 60-80 dollars or about 50% of their price. it is VERY obvious their is no competition here.
