FABULOUS-looking floating candle decoration!
I thought I had reviewed this as after taping them up on the ceiling, my eyes popped out when I saw the effect! Different-height, floating candles, flickering, warm yellow candle-like appearance... SOOOO Harry Potter-esque, fabulous! So here's the official review. Very thin, but strong wire - I think it's a PVC/or nylon thread that's securely attached to the tips of the candles. Even with batteries, they held perfectly! We went with white gaffer's tape. Check out the photos... virtually invisible! I did NOT cut any of the thread... rather I'd gather it up, and tape the thread to the piece of gaffer's tape, then tape the whole thing to the ceiling.Battery life: not bad... couple of evening's, going for a solid 4-6 hours, using Amazon Basic's AA rechargeables. NOTE: the wand... it self-drains. I'm not sure why. After about 12 hours, it's dead. Not a bid deal..again because I use rechargeable batteries, but it was a bit annoying. When the candles' batteries are out of power, they begin flashing - short burst every several seconds. This ..can wake you up! Hah! Not a big deal.. just removed the battery and dealt with it the next day. Of course, they all kinda die at the same time, so one would go, then another, etc. It was useful to give me an idea of battery life, and to know which candle needed to be replaced. I replaced batteries while they were mid-air! LIFT the candle so as not to be weight on it, then you may need to shake the candle to get the battery out - rechargeable batteries are a bit larger in size than normal ones. I didn't try my much better Tenergy AA batteries, but..for this purpose, it's fine. I had 20 candles floating for about a month or so... and guests LOVED them! It's over... now you have to put them away.Ugh. That long, nylon thread curls and tangles easily. It's the right thread to use, so.. even if I did it myself, I'd have used something similar, and had the same issues. So I figured out a system, and perhaps this will be useful to you:- leave about 2" of thread at the tip, and begin rolling the thread around 2 or 3 fingers - see my photos- hold the circle of thread together, then twist it into a figure 8- THEN you can use the tiny supplied twist ties, or make your own by cutting down normal ones- You can stack them inside the box... use the cardboard to cover the tops of one set because the thread will want to "pop" outI was amazed that I got it done, and being able to put these things away for next year was the main reason I'm reviewing this, giving it a good score, and hoping others won't get frustrated with the potential mess. These things are amazing...and create a very cool effect!NOTE: to turn them on, you MAY have to direct the wand higher... ABOVE the tips. That seemed to set them all ON in one push. OR..just keep holding the wand. Many reported the wand not working at all. Well, it's infrared, I think, and it works as line of sight, so... you may need to click a few times. But if you say the right magic words, "LUMOS MAXIMA," that should do the trick. lol!I did not use the timer function with the lights - didn't know there was one until I saw it on the review. Could be useful, but...since these die-off in 2-3 days' worth of lighting, I'd rather control it myself.Be patient.. make sure the tape holds - we had one fall, and it makes... a loud sound when hitting the floor, but it DID NOT BREAK. Otherwise, all 19 other candles stayed up for a solid month using white gaffer's tape. CAREFUL not to put too much gaffer's on a ceiling..you can and will pull paint off! Even our Scotch Magic tape pulls some paint off once in a while. It's the price you pay for decorating!

Absolutely love, but they eat batteries
I bought these for myself and for a secret Santa Christmas gift and they were a huge guy. I absolutely love these. I actually used the thumb tacks in my ceiling (so did my cousin who got them in secret Santa) and they worked just fine. Just gotta be careful not to pull at all when hanging and replacing batteries. The only down side is that they drain batteries pretty quick. We've had them up since Halloween and turn them on for about 2-5 hours each day and I've replaced batteries 2.5 times on all of them (I got lazy on replacements, so half of them are currently dead). I haven't had any issues with the remote though. The light is soft enough to provide some light to walk around but not so bright that they reflect on the TV, which is a plus.

They’re worth the money🔥
The media could not be loaded. Things you need to know it takes one AAA battery for every single candle and wand. So if you buy a pack, it should be fine. I’ve had them on for a week now. I haven’t had to change the battery for any of the candles or wand. If for whatever reason, your wand or your candle is not turning on, make sure it is tightly fastened .The white tacks They supply you with do not work so you might just skip it and use a little circular sticky things they supply with. You just need to tie the string into a knot twice for it to stay at the length that you want it to be. I was able to remove them and stick them without messing up my paint on my ceiling. But just to be safe when taking it down, please apply some heat with like a blow dryer. My walls have a gloss finish. It is meant to be able to just wipe messes off, but if your wall doesn’t, it will probably take the paint off.It supplies a great deal of light so you don’t need to have a secondary light on. It still gives a cool effect. The size of the candles are significant where you can clearly see that they are candles. And it is sturdy enough to handle wind. And I feel like this is a versatile purchase. I’m going to use them all the way up until Christmas.I bought two packs, but I only really needed one so if you really want these, please buy them

awesome
Love!! these were perfect addition to my halloween decoration! I love that they only require 1 battery, and it lasts the entire season (I only ten on the candles at night and turn them off when going to bed), and the fishline is attached to the candles so I don't have to figure out how to tie them. I get a lot of compliments every year when we put them up.

3rd set in a row to stop working, buy the bigger ones instead
The media could not be loaded. I had an old set from 2 years ago do the same thing and thought with adding the timer function maybe they had fixed the issues, but I was wrong. I have gotten 2 sets of these in the last month and they have all but 2 (of 40) stopped working properly. You can no longer turn them on, but as long as there are batteries in them you can't get them to fully shut off either. See video - they will randomly flash on.Not worth the money or the time setting them up for how quickly they break. The set in the video was just opened a week ago. It's a shame cause the 6hr on/18hr off cycle was perfect for the short time they worked they looked awesome. The tall and wider sets we got from the same company a while back mostly work still thankfully. There were a couple that never worked out of the box from broken battery connections and a couple of the tall ones that sometimes have to be loosened at the base to be turned off, but otherwise the ones that worked at the beginning of the bigger ones still work and would recommend buying those instead. I may need to go back and get more of those with the timer since these don't seem to have their wiring figured out. They have also killed most of the rechargeable batteries that have been used in them, so lost more than can get in refund.
