It's a good solution to losing the sunglasses holder on earlier models
As long as you do not have a need to pull yourself into the driver's seat on the handhold (I never used it), this very innovative solution works. It may not work on all size glasses-- I think my regular and sunglasses tend to be on the larger size, but they both fit in. It's not intuitive and mine did not come with instructions (but a quick Youtube video was easily found). It comes with all the tools you need for the job (that is a plus) and I am happy with it so far. Very clever "hack" to the Golf R mk8.

Fits properly
Has the proper tools come with it. Fits properly after a bit of fuss with the install.

Great!
Works great in my MK8 GTI! Installation is a little tough, but not too bad!

It fits and does the job, but...
I received and installed this on my Mk8 GTI. I knew it was a gamble being so cheap, but seemed like a pretty low-risk gamble, so...First, it came with zero instructions, and took me a while to figure it out on my own. Second, removing the handle was NOT just prying off the covers and "prying both sides". The OEM covers are easy to pop off, but then you have to contend with two metal clips on the inside. You have to insert both long pry tools into a space that's almost impossible to see and then twist them simultaneously to get them to release. Once I had the old handle removed, it was easy enough to slide the glasses holder in, however... The two little "covers" that are meant to lock the device in, will NOT go in all the way. They stick out a few mm on each side and don't snap in securely. I pressed them in as hard as I was able, and the case feels more or less in there, but I suspect that it's likely to fall out eventually. I'm going to work with it for a month or so to be sure, but as the old saying goes; You get what you pay for. I guess we'll see...

Nice addition, but not so easy to install
works well and is just what I needed. Getting it installed wasn't as easy as I expected, but stick with it and PUSH!!! You will eventually get it to stay in place. No issue since then.

Fits MK8.5 GTI
Just confirming that it does indeed fit the MK8.5 (2025+) model. At the time of this review, that wasn't mentioned anywhere in the description.Quality is just "okay". Definitely not OEM level. But it's better than not having a sunglass holder. Once fully installed it requires a bit of manual force to tweak it so that it doesn't rub against the headliner. Even then, the spring in mine only returns 3/4 of the way needing a little push to close it fully. As has been pointed out, there are no instructions included. And most videos/instructions I found online were lacking. Attached are two pics that hopefully get you started. After removing the plastic tab in the handle, look for a tiny metal slot facing the door (circled in red). There is an identical slot on the opposite side facing the interior of the cabin. Take both of the L shaped screwdrivers (included in this kit) and jam them up into the slots as far as they'll go - theres enough friction to hold them in place. Then pull one of the screwdriver handle down toward you and the other up towards the headliner. This releases the clip and you'll see that side of the door handle drop slightly. It definitely helps to have a second set of hands and a flashlight.

Works well, replaces drivers side grab handle.
The media could not be loaded. Replaces something I will never use, for something I might use…maybe. Worth $30 for me, somewhere to store a backup set of sunglasses, as my normal pair usually just end up on the passenger seat. Google an install video, it was harder to get the stock grab handle off than expected.
