I already has the Z1 5w and bought the Air Assist to add on. Price is good. Install is easy and works with no major issues with the caveat that your acrylic focus plate used to measure distance no longer works once this kit is installed. The guard that comes on the stock 5w laser is about 3mm taller than the new nozzle. If trying to use the 2mm acrylic that comes with the Z1 the focus will be off. I printed a new paddle spacer tool at about 5mm that works, so it is working but may play with that distance a bit to dial it in. Other than that unit is sturdy and well made. The only thing improvements that could be made are a built in pressure gauge or a more precise power dial with clicks instead of smooth turning. Hard to know how much air I am pumping. Overall a very good value and nice piece of kit. Would buy again if upgrading a laser w/o air.

Bought it for Xtool pro 40w. All I had to do was attach the hose. Didn't need to change the supplied nozzle. The variable air flow was a big plus! And it quite enough that I forget is on unless its full blast the I can hear it and even then no louder the a large fishtank air supply! A+. I also can use it on my Atomstack A5 pro with one of the supplied nozzles.. So all I have to do is swap the hose from one machine to the other when needed. The rubber padded feel really reduces vibration noise and avoids it from dancing across the table I have it on. I really recommend it. As far as longevity... time will tell. But by the looks of it; its built sturdy so Im expecting a good run for the money. 👍

Works good little noisy but does what it’s supposed to do

Overall it is a nice, compact although a bit strange looking unit. It is not very quiet, but the noise is at least bearable. My unit came with a good number of accessories, of which I mostly liked two spare inlets with quick release mechanism. Strangely enough, out of three(!) different air nozzles it came with NONE was compatible with the Comegrow's own 10W laser which I also bought on Amazon. What were they thinking? Fortunately I can make an adapter on my CNC mill so this is a minor issue for me. More importantly, the unit does not have an on/off switch. To turn it on of off you need to turn the adjustment wheel, which makes it impossible to "set and forget" the airflow rate. Furthermore, this adjustment wheel is inconveniently placed on the power cord, making it harder to reach in my working environment. And to make matters worse, that power cord is WAY too short unless you a have power outlet right next to your laser cutter. I think I'll have to lengthen the cord and add a proper power switch myself. At this price, the manufacturer had to economize, I get it --but I really wish they sacrificed some accessories (many of which are totally useless) instead of ergonomics. Still, if you are handy with tools (and you should be if you have a customized laser cutter) all these issues are relatively minor, and I don't regret my purchase so far.

This Air Assist is very good quality and was reasonably easy to install on my xTool D1 10w Laser Engraver. Pros: 1) Allows for much cleaner cuts and less scorching on both sides of bass wood cuts. See picture, top piece is with air assist and the bottom piece is without 2) Motor is reasonably quite when running Cons: 1) Instructions could have been a little more detailed, but easy enough once you start the assembly 2) The metal shield replaced the clear plastic shield, which makes it difficult to see the targeting laser Overall, this is a must have to produce quality results. I also recommend getting a Honeycomb base plate! Highly Recommended CFH

The first air assist worked great for a few days and then randomly died. But the company was very responsive and sent a new one - it’s working perfectly. The customer service is great and I recommend this as an affordable option.

A great product, great and easy to assemble. Variable air pressure. Best one to buy

Received June 14th, died July 31st. This is the lifespan of this product. Only purchase this if you want a subscription service for air assist and intend on buying one every 6 weeks. Out of the 6 weeks that I owned it, it probably ran an average of 2 hours a day, so a total of under 100 hours. DO NOT waste your hard earned money. The return window is 30 days and the manufacturer offers zero warranty on items purchased through Amazon.

Nice unit very low noise use it all the time The only thing I am not sure of it came with different adapters for the air assist nozzle This is made by comgrow. So is my laser there was already a place to screw it in. So I am using that one so far so good
