Fantastic Hardwood Knife
I like this knife. Been using a Mora 106 for a long time and still do use it, but I find this stays sharper longer when carving harder woods. The quality is nice and the knife comes razor sharp out of the package. A couple strips and I was ready to do. The spine is a little thicker than the Mora so I feel like I have more strength behind the tough push cuts. Would recommend for any avid hardwood carver. The only thing I didnโt like was the size of the grip. Just wasnโt super comfortable but I carved and sanded it and it is nice in my hand. I donโt see it as a bad thing though.

This knife is crazy sharp. Great for building boats.

Amazing knife. Super sharp out of package
Really happy with this purchase. It comes ready to use out of the package and holds sharpness really well. Quite ergonomic and durable. The tip is really fine and with some skills can be used for detailing too. If I would know before I could just get this one right the way instead trying other brands to try as a beginner.

The tool I didnโt know I needed.
As a beginner, Iโve been trying to learn carving/whittling via trial by fire, toughing it out and trial nโ error, the old fashioned way. Iโve made great prog, but found myself having sore hands before even approaching detail work on pieces as small as a gnome or a spoon. I decided to grab a Sloyd for roughing, and it has already changed the game. The amount of wood I can remove with minimal effort is a thing of beauty. This Flexcut specifically came ungodly sharp out of the box, fit in itโs sheath perfectly, and has thus far served me well. I appreciate the thickness of the steel for being stout, but not overly so. Itโs sturdy enough that I donโt fear putting some muscle into a cut, and itโs thin enough that I (size 3xl hands) can easily pushcut detail aswell. Just an all around fantastic purchase, and was worth every penny.

Very Sharp and The Right Design - You Only Need This One Knife
I am a novice at wood carving. So I started with cheaper knives. BIG mistake. I was almost resigned to doing only small carvings because it seemed so hard to do. But then I splurged and bought this one knife. It has made carving 100% easier. No slips, cut hands, or chunks of wood hacked out. Like going thru butter ... well, OK, cold butter. I can now enjoy my new hobby, and am making much better carvings.

Could be sharper and fuzzy handle - is it really Flexcut?
Not the sharpest so I keep working on that. I hate it and wish I had returned it. Wondered why there isn't any labeling on the knife itself. The sheath says "Flexcut" but the knife looks like it could be a China knock off. The metal band between the blade and handle looks really cheap. The wood isn't shaped or finished like my other Flexcut knives. In fact, the wood has been sanded and is fuzzy. My other Flexcut knives have finished wood handles. Nothing like the photo. I'd keep looking.

Different sheath that what is pictured
Great knife but as others have said, the sheath is different than the one that is pictured. Mine came with a leather belt attachment sheath rather than the metal clip that is pictured

Sharp blade, but crooked, and can't be used with its sheath
It's very sharp, and the blade geometry is good. The handle is comfortable. This ends the positive portion of the review. The blade is quite crooked on mine, enough to notice it going off course when carving. The first time I put the knife into the sheath, it punctured the end and stabbed me in the palm. The knife that I got cannot be used with the sheath it came with. It simply stabs through the end of it every time it's inserted. I don't know if this is a common issue, or just a problem with the one I got, but this is unacceptably poor. I'll send the knife back and get another, and maybe update the review after. So far, I'm mostly unimpressed. To be fair, I'd tried some other flexcut products in the past, including their rather poor draw knife, and got this same impression. So, maybe it's a case of "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me." [Edit] I sent it back, and got another shipped to me. The problems in the first knife were not present. The blade is straight, and it can be used with the sheath without cutting through it. I still have concerns about the sheath construction, which feels like given any crease or bend, it'll put the knife at an angle to poke through the side of the sheath again. I feel like it's not really an adequate sheath, and I've deducted a star for that. The knife itself seems very good, this time around. It's much better than my previous experiences with Flexcut products. Just be careful with the sheath. It's not entirely safe.

Great carving knife
Great carving knife, very good steel, and strops back to razor sharp. I prefer this to the classic mora carving knife. More expensive, but you get what you pay for
