Lactaid Fast Act Chewables are great if you are lactose intolerant , yet want to enjoy dairy without discomfort. The tablets are very convenient- no water needed, just chew and go. I use them every mooring for my yoghurt. Within minutes I notice a big difference; no bloating, cramps or heaviness. The Fast Act really lives up to its name. And they taste fine, slightly sweet, not chalky at all. Coverall they are reliable, portable and easy to use. I highly recommend them.

I have a non-typical case of a dairy allergy, that likely does not apply to you, but maybe this will help others who also have my condition. I can digest dairy just fine, but if I eat dairy, my skin breaks out in acne, merely hours later. Term definitions, to help: LactOse - The "milk sugar" found in dairy, that causes issues for some of us. LactAse - An enzyme that helps you process lactose. It took a long time, a bunch of research, and self-testing to find out what was causing my acne: It was dairy, specifically the lactose in dairy. Therefore I wanted to try various lactase enzyme supplements, as lactase enzyme counteracts lactose. After years of trying various brands of lactase enzyme pills, all containing lactase enzyme in varying quantities, I tried these. These "Lactaid Fast Act Chewables" work better for me than any other lactase enzyme pills so far. This includes working better than the other "Lactaid" brand pills. I have not tried all brands on the market. It must have something to do with absorption, as when I've tried various other lactase pills, and when compensating for the varying lactase enzyme servings to get the same quantities, these still work the best so far. The amount of lactase enzyme that helps me is up to a very high amount, up to 36,000 FCC units. Just the standard 9,000 FCC units in other pills doesn't help much. 18,000 units does something, and 27,000 units is about the break-even point. Going up to 36,000 units is for when I eat a lot of dairy, or eat foods that affect me much more. However, when using these chewables, I only need 1 chewable to reach 9,000 units of lactase enzyme, and even only at 9,000 units it's the most effective for me yet. It completely prevents, or mostly (95%) completely prevents my skin from breaking out due to dairy intake. My natural not-food-caused breakouts still happen, of course, but those are rare. Sometimes I take 2 chewables before eating a lot of dairy. It's great that I've finally found a chewable that actually works well for me. These also taste good, and are conveniently packaged to take on-the-go, when eating out at a restaurant for example. Other ways I've helped my condition is switching to lactose-free versions of milk, ice cream, sour cream, and yogurt. The "Lactaid" company makes those too, but I get whatever brand of lactose-free grocery product is cheapest at the time. Lactose-free groceries are only available at the largest of my local grocery stores, are expensive, and are not available all the time. Most dairy-based products are not available in lactose-free versions either. So I'll have these ready.

Purchased this lactase enzyme tablets 3 years ago and although it expired 6 months ago, it still works well. I recently purchased regular milk (without knowing it) and was wondering why I had so much gas after eating a bowl of cereal. As it turned out, the milk carton looked just like the usual milk carton but was missing the phrase 'lactose-free' which I forgot to notice because I bought the milk in a hurry. So, I pulled the Lactaid tablets out of the frig (best place to keep meds or supplements) and it worked! Took 2 tablets for one average size bowl of cereal. No gas while I sat in church this morning, which was a good thing because that is one setting with little to no ambient noise to blend in with. Thank You Lord.

The chewable only come in ice cream flavor which isn't great if you're eating savory foods. Don't rinse with carbonated drinks or you'll foam. You can see me, 45 plus adult at the pizza parlor foaming out the mouth rinsing the ice cream flavor with a cola, can't you. Be warned. BUT you only need 1 and it works most the time. I have IBS so it's not just dairy that triggers me. The pill version you struggle to swallow multiple tiny pills that don't always work. So I'd stick with the chewables.

Fast working! Okay taste. My son loves the chewables because he has a hard time swallowing pills. Good quantity for the price. They come in eight packages of four for freshness and easy travel. We buy these all the time and will continue to buy these because they work so well. I highly recommend these to those who have lactose intolerance.

In comparison to other Lactose pills, this product seems to work fine. However I felt that in comparison to the extra strength formula, I would have to take about 2 of these pills to get the same affect as I would get with 1 Xtra strength pill. The product taste of 'french vanilla' is awful. Although it's a chewable format, I do not know why they would want you to have Vanilla right before a meal. I am not able to find a mint version on the market, so I would say the taste is not worth it, and you're better off finding non-chewable to just swallow the tab whole. The main benefit of this product is the individual packaging. I can put a few pills in my pocket when going out to a restaurant. This is the only reason I will buy the product again (as I found the taste awful).

I love the taste... I have the vanilla ones and they taste just like custard creams YUM! I have a severe dairy allergy and react to my medications I have to take daily that has a coating which contains lactose. I had to stop my medication as it was making me so ill even though it’s a tiny dose but now I have these and take them before my meds it’s great! I’ve not tried them with dairy products yet as I’m also allergic to the caseins in dairy but when I’m feeling confident enough I’ll give it a try. Highly recommend!
