Takes F91W's Lunch Money; Buys W217H With It
I've always had poor punctuality. I don't want to, I just wasn't raised right in some ways and am undoing some bad habits. I've never owned a watch before and the idea of a smartwatch is unappealing to me- I want to be LESS plugged into screens, not more. This is my first watch and it's helping my on-timeness. I want to look at it because the black and dusty gold are so visually appealing to me, along with the '90s digital aesthetic. Looking at it so often keeps the time ever in my mind, as does the hourly beep feature. I've got bad vision and the larger digits than F91W are perfect for the distance from my eyes to my wrist without making for too big a face. I don't think I like visually striking watches and the size of this case is perfect for my wrist and style. It doesn't feel like you spent $300 on it, of course, but in terms of build quality, it feels like you spent more than $30 for sure. I'd compare it to Koss headphones- it probably won't last forever, but it'll last for years if you take care of it and when it comes time for replacement, who cares? It's $30. That value proposition is unbeatable in my opinion. The box is the classic blue and white Casio packaging and included is the plastic store display stand- nothing pretty, but still thoughtful packaging in my opinion. Setting up the watch is beginner friendly and straight forward with the included manual. I got the buttons figured out mostly without the manual in around 5 minutes and I've never set up a watch before. Switching between 24hr and 12hr time is handy for my line of work. The alarm and stopwatch functions are intuitive and useful. The featureset and design are truly everything I need and nothing I don't as I'm not a jetsetter, a diver, a stockbroker or a sailor. The backlight is bright and an attractive amber color on the black with gold line model (hold to illuminate). The buttons are easy to find in the dark and easy to press without being accidentally pressed to easily once you get used to wearing a watch. I've ordered 18mm lug width adapter brackets for mine and replaced the stock band with a NATO G10 band that I find a tad more attractive and infinitely more durable according to reviews. I got the adapters here on Amazon for $8. The quick release pins that came preinstalled with the stock resin band attached seem to be of better quality than the aftermarket ones available on Amazon. They came out and went back in smoothly without damaging the resin case or their mounting holes. I really do think the stock resin band is attractive enough, especially for what you pay, but it did make my wrist sweat, I've heard they crack and crumble with time, and I just like fiddling with stuff to be frank. If you're looking for a sub-$100 watch, I'd save your money, skip anything analog and go with your choice of Casio- I imagine they're all as competently designed, functional, and consistently build as the W217H. Plus, they are just plain COOL- and always will be.

Blows the F91W out of the water!
If you're in the market for an affordable digital watch, then look no further. This Casio W217H watch is absolutely fantastic! It is lightweight, perfectly sized, and the bigger number display is a godsend for my aging eyes. The rubber strap is nice and soft, and has more than enough length for an average adult's wrist. The backlight is also nice and bright, which makes reading the time in dark environments a breeze. I'm loving the retro vibe as well! It has all the basics covered (time, alarm, and stopwatch), and is super simple to use. What else do everyday people really need from a watch? Skip the Casio F91W and get this one instead. You won't regret it!

Useful cheap watch
First time casio owner here. Don't listen to people who gave it a bad rating honestly. It looks/feels good, it does the one thing a watch is supposed to do, and last best it's cheap. Got it today, went to a festival with it today and it is like it was made for it. Very happy with the purchase.

Classic Retro Digital Watch
The W217H is basically the classic Casio F-91w in a bigger size with a far better back light. I throw absolutely no shade to the F-91w, there is a reason why that watch has sold millions, but for my wrist it is a bit too small and looks like a toy. This is a bit of a grown up version without losing any of the retro charm that makes Casio watches so fun. I especially appreciate the gold/yellow color of the trim as it gives off a bit of a more sophisticated vibe without losing any of the fun factor too. Considering this watch costs less than a couple of movie tickets there is nothing I could complain about here. It's not the most durable watch on the planet, but at this price I wouldn't expect it to be. Still, it'll handle day to day abuse, especially if you're like me and you work in an office. I'd probably leave this watch at home if I was operating heavy machinery all day, but otherwise you should be fine. If something goes wrong, just buy another one. I swapped out the resin band for a leather one, which is a little crazy considering it cost more than the watch itself. Still, I think it elevates the watch a tad which is good for office clothes. Dig around on the internet and you'll find strap options that fit. This watch appears to have the same lug/case shape as the "world time" AE1200 so if you find a strap that is advertised to fit that watch it'll probably work here too.

This is the Casio watch to get
This is the Casio watch to get. The W217h in gold. I had it on my list for the longest time and kept putting on watches on the list along with it. I have 8 other Casio watches some digital and some analog. I usually wear a watch for a couple of days and then alternate to another watch for a few days. I thought perhaps for this 9th Casio watch I might go G-Shock, however, after seeing this beautiful gold W217h I went with this one. It fits great and is very comfortable on the wrist. The amber background is just beautiful to look at. I don't use the backlight much, however, when you do it will light up your entire screen. You do have to hold the button for the light and once you let go the light will go off. I guess that is a good thing so you don't run down your battery. The face of this gorgeous Casio watch is just a jewel to behold. The gold gives it class. My wife who usually could care less about my watch collection said this gold watch looks great. There you go, my Casio friends. A woman's take on this watch. This is like the big brother of the Casio f98-w. It is slightly larger all the way around, yet still square. The numbers are more prominent and easily readable even if your eyesight is not that good close up. It tells you the time (24-hour or AM/PM), day of the week, and date. Do you want an alarm? You got it. Do you want an hourly chime? You got it. Do you want a stopwatch? You got it. No countdown timer which does not matter to me. 7-year battery life. That is really good. 4 screws on the back so you can change the battery yourself. 50M water resistant. That should keep you going in the rain, washing dishes, showering, and pools. The W217 will keep excellent time, too. Just go to time.gov and set the watch and forget about it. Maybe once a month check and see if you are a couple of seconds off and you can reset if you are OCD like me and need time to be perfect. I have to say again, it is a beautiful watch and the gold makes it pop even more. Sure, you can get the generic black with gold, blue or black trim, however, why would you want to do that when the gold color will set you apart from the crowd?

Inexpensive watch for daily use
Cheap watch with basic functions such as alarm and stopwatch. Working in healthcare, I wanted something easily cleanable (water resistant) and cheap that I wasn’t worried about getting damaged. This watch has held up very well to daily use. Gains a little time each month but fairly accurate for my purposes. Very light and comfortable to wear.

The display light is very nice and it's a amber-colored display
The Casio W217H is a great watch. I have many Casio digital wristwatches, and this one is nice. I love the orange, or I would say amber-colored, backlit display. Also, when you push and hold the light button, the display light stays on as long as you hold the button. I personally love that the display is very clear even without the display light on. And it fits very nicely on my wrist, but I don't have big wrists. I like that it has a slightly thinner bottom plate as well, so it has a low profile, but it might not fit all wrists. But I personally recommend this watch from Casio, and I love the Casio watch brand. I have been using Casio wristwatches since the '80s.

Comfortable on arm, retro look
Great, retro watch that is comfortable on the arm. Being raised in the 80's and 90's, I could tell this was an 80's style watch. It takes me back to before everything was connected by internet and bluetooth. Great buy.

The bigger brother of the Casio F91w, perfect for those with larger wrists....
The Casio F91w is a classic in the watch world, sold in the millions and previously worn by presidents and terrorists alike. However, if you have a larger wrist (mine is 7.5"), then it's a bit too small and can look like a kid's watch when worn. The Casio W217h is the bigger brother of that classic of the watch world, with a larger case and longer strap, but retaining the original retro styling of the F91w. In terms of features, minimalist is the word. It has time/day/date, then a single alarm setting, and stopwatch. You can set an hourly chime and choose between 24hr clock, and that's it. But isn't there something nice and simple about that in this day and age, as opposed to a smartwatch that does a million things and beeps endlessly with notifications and needs charging every day? Less is more sometimes, and this watch does everything you need it to. The display is clear with large digits, and the backlight is excellent, making the display glow orange in the dark, which is pretty cool. The styling is retro and though the F91w probably is slightly better looking overall due to it's slimness, this watch looks much better when worn than the photos suggest, so will grow on you. It's robust enough that you can use it as a daily beater without worrying about damaging it due to the low cost, and is so light you forget you are wearing it. I own a number of watches including more expensive ones, but this one ends up on my wrist the most and it can't be faulted for the money. The Casio B650 is the silver stainless steel version which I ended up buying too as I liked the design so much, and that is also an excellent choice if you want something slightly different.

Entrega e relógio
Comprei no dia 28/06.

The F91 for larger wrists
The design is obviously an F91 which I found looked like a kids watch on my 7 and a half inch wrist. Such a shame as I really liked it but couldn’t get used to the size. I didn’t even know this watch existed until saw a YouTube review on it. The size of this is perfect and everything about this watch is so much better than the F91 especially its legibility and back light. It’s everything I wanted the F91 to be. Ordered from Amazon US and was delivered way before estimated delivery date. Overall very impressed with the watch and the service.
