I leave my car parked for long periods, so I was looking for a quick and easy theft deterrent. I have been pleased with the lock, found it easy to lock and unlock. I bought the bright yellow to increase its visibility if someone looks in.

I bought this KAYCENTOP steering wheel lock as an added layer of security, and it does exactly what it’s supposed to do without overcomplicating things. The upgraded aluminum alloy lock housing feels solid, and the heavy multi-strand steel cable inspires confidence once it’s locked in place. The bright black-and-orange cable with the silver lock body is very visible through the driver’s side window, which is honestly half the battle. Most thieves prefer easy targets, and this clearly isn’t one. It fits well on my vehicle, and adjusting the seat slightly helps get a firm, snug lock every time. What I like most is how easy it is to use day to day. It installs and removes in seconds, doesn’t feel bulky, and the flexible cable makes it simple to store under a seat or in tight spaces. The universal fit worked fine on my car, and having three keys included is a plus (just don’t lose them). The bonus use of securing a handbag to the seat is a clever touch and adds extra peace of mind when running quick errands. Overall, it’s a straightforward, well-built deterrent that focuses on visibility, durability, and practicality. No gimmicks, just smart prevention.

It was the best purchase I made for my car

This is a clever insanely simple lock. The key turns 1/8 to the right unlocking a tumbler that lets you push the key down on a an internal plunger that releases the belt release (the orange button) you normally use to unlock your belt. Is it Mercedes quality? No. A more highly engineered device doing the same thing would easily double or triple the retail price. Will it do the job? Yes. Just don't get all gorilla trying to force things. It will do for 99% of the usual suspects running around looking for a joy ride or parts car. Professionals out to bag your Ferrari or Corvette will not be slowed down much. You will have to get much more sophisticated for those guys. Even back in the 70s & 80s pro thieves would nitrogen can spray freeze quality locks on expensive high quality steering wheel and brake pedal devices then small slide hammer the locks out and drive away.

Obviously, we don't know if this deters a theft, as we have not had our car stolen while using it. We thought it'd be worth using it if it would deter some amateur would-be thieves at least, but we don't know if most thieves find it difficult to get rid of these kinds of protections, or how easy it is for them to break / pull off the seatbelt attachment altogether to steal the car. However, in terms of quality, the product is top-notch, easy to use, and innovative. The key works well (you get 3 keys, which is great, since we are 2 drivers and we like to keep one at home just in case we lose our car keys). The only drawback is that the loop is a bit short, so you need to bring your seat closer to the steering wheel every time you want to put it on (at least for our KIA Forte 5 GT Limited 2023), which means you cannot put it on while sitting in the driver's seat.
