Cable Matters 2-Pack offers two 50-foot male-to-female XLR microphone cables designed for professional audio setups. Ideal for extended reach and flexible mic placement, these cables support standard XLR connections widely used in live and studio environments. While budget-friendly and versatile, some users report signal issues when cables are held straight, suggesting best use with mic stands or angled positioning.

I bought 4 packs of these since 2022 -2024 and so far 4 cables of the 8 I have has started to have signal cutting in and out if the cable arent dangling from the mics at an 30 - 90 degree or so angle. If you hold the mics straigh up thats when you start having connection issues and signals being low to cutting out until you angle the mic again. Moving with these cables is a no no since you get cable thump feedback into the mics. I have these cables hooked up to a couple of shure beta 58a, sm58 and some cheaper behringer supercardoid dynamic mics for singing nights with friends and I have to tell them to hold the mic at an angle if there is any signal cuts if they are holding the mic instead of using the mic stands. In the past I bought the shorter versions as well and all of them have the same issues as the new ones I bought but they lasted a bit longer before getting to the point where you have to bend the cable up while holding the mic to work ok. I thought maybe I was treating these too rough but seeing as I only had 8 karaoke nights since I got these and my friends and I treat the cables well since they dont wanna damage my stuff. No one is swinging the mic around like a rock metal live singer or running across a stage with the cables. We are just potato couch singing or standing up in one spot. If your really on a tight budget then i guess get these but if you want quality cables that wont have issues for years to come then spend more and get other reputable brands. I personally will no longer buy this brands xlr cable anymore until they have better quality manufacturing. I am currently trying out the pighog brand and hopefully they are of better quality since it costs more.

Most budget cables can be ok at 15 ft, or even up to 30. But at 50-100 ft, most budget cables start catching interference and 60-cycle hum when the get that length. Not these. No 60-cycle hum. Granted, at the highest volumes, the collect hiss along the 100 ft, but I don't need these for extreme volumes, just gigs to 250 people ±. Cable material is not too thin, and connectors are metal. Connector sleeves are screw-on/clamp down the plastic cable housing underneath. Summary: This a nice find for the price. I'd recommend it to others.

I have worked with cheap cords before and I hate them passionately. These are good quality cords that feel substantial in your hands and hold up nicely. They seem a bit expensive to me, but I can't tolerate poorly made junk.

Be careful unplugging connector, especially if using it with high end equipment as you might ruin your equipment if not careful. Used these at a gig this week, went to unplug at the end and noticed it tugging at the speaker input. Had I not noticed I would have ripped the speakers female portion XLR connector out. Turns out there is some gnurled metal on the inside of the male portion that was not allowing the speaker cable to release. On the positive side, I noticed no issues in clarity/sound quality with these cables. Quite pleased minus the quality control piece. Most likely would not purchase again and had I known this I would probably have spent more on a better product.
