I was really hoping to use them to hang a metal sign on a metal building but they will not work for that. However they are strong and easy to attach to a wall with the provided screws.

I've just received my 2nd order. The more I use these magnets, the more uses i find for them. They are excellent for moveable tools hangers and many other uses. A good value. NOTE: Theses are VERY strong magnets, be careful!

I bought these magnets to hold a banner on my garage door. I put them in the bottom of the banner to hold it down. They are very strong and helped get the job done. They are also flat so we can still open our garage door without having to remove them.

I purchased these to hang metal art on our walls. I read some negative reviews and decided to test before committing to them. The strongest side is the side with the countersink for a screw head. I put a piece of plastic between the metal and the magnet so as not to scratch the art piece. The magnet held the piece up even with the plastic in between. It was even difficult to slide the magnet to edge to remove it because it is so strong. So, when the magnet is attached to your wall the flat side is against the wall and the strongest side (with the countersink dimple) is out. I'm not certain why folks are struggling to attach these. Once the magnet is anchored with a screw it easily held over 50lbs vertically. I did not try anything heavier because I didn't need it.
