Love these! Purchased recently for a trip to Disneyland during a heatwave. So easy to use and super practical. Saved having to touch the suncream which helps if you have sensory needs both yourself and your children. My children never complained as it felt comfortable for them and gentle on their skin. Would highly recommend

I bought these in July 2023, fabulous on the go mess free sunscreen top up, I wash it up with antibac washing up liquid or soap and let it fully dry before each refill. They have both seen us through 3 summers faultlessly, the sponge applicator came off one of them last week while on holiday so I’ve just ordered a pair of replacement applicator tips! The other is still perfect and going strong! I’m so impressed with these, they’ve lasted so well and enable my son to effortlessly apply his own sunscreen without mess or help to rub it in! I will continue to buy these even when my son is grown up, as they’re so handy to just chuck in your bag and use while out and about and no messy hands! Win win!!!

Great for the holidays no mess

This little gadget is a game-changer. The Solar Buddies applicator helped me apply sun cream to my son without the usual screams of betrayal and cries of “WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME?!” He actually let me cover him without acting like I was trying to paint him in acid. Magic ✨ It’s easy to use, gives great coverage, and doesn’t leave your hands looking like you've lost a fight with a tub of mayo. BUT. A word to the wise: clean it out properly before putting it away for the winter. I made the rookie mistake of forgetting... and when I opened it next year, I was greeted by what I can only describe as a small suncream-based science experiment. If mould had a theme tune, it would’ve played. Still, 5 stars—because anything that helps me suncream a wriggly child without a meltdown deserves a medal (and possibly a parade).

My neurodiverse children with sensory issues are both happy using in preference to spray on sun cream and regular roll on suncream. They also like the increased independence it promotes. Seems a very “thin”application, as skin not left feeling damp or sticky, so I was initially dubious it gave enough protection. However we have had a recent heatwave, with no hint of sunburn (to very pale skin) and so am very pleased, and therefore came back to review the product.

I bought the Solar Buddies Blue & Green Duo Pack for my kids, and it has made applying sunscreen so much simpler. The rollerball and sponge design spreads sunscreen evenly without messy hands. The applicators are lightweight and easy for little hands to hold, and the BPA-free, anti-bacterial materials are reassuring. The only small issue is that the caps can be a bit tricky to remove when hands are slippery, but otherwise these are fantastic for quick, hygienic, and stress-free sun protection.

Total waste of money! Don’t bother is doesn’t provide anything that just using suncream normally doesn’t do. Really bad coverage, really bad application. Considering this is meant to protect a child’s skin it doesn’t provide this and would urge parents not to bother and just be sensible and use suncream applying with own hands to ensure skin is protected. Really really bad product

These unfortunately have a few issues that people should be aware of before they buy: 1) the suncream you use in it needs to be exactly the right consistency - too thick and it won't come out, too thin and it will come out too fast or come out when you aren't actually rolling the ball 2) the lid comes off easily - so it isn't great for taking out and about with you. It could do with a screw on lid or similar, rather than one that pulls off with such little force. We thought it was working ok with our suncream of choice (and it wasn't coming out too fast when we rolled it - if anything it was a bit too low), but then it leaked out in the bag all over some clothes. The lid was still in place but just loosely, so nothing was turning the ball, but a significant amount of suncream came out - both making a mess and wasting a lot of suncream. If this can't be use out and about then it really doesn't provide much value.

Theoretically this makes sense and would be a miraculous product, however I found that the sunscreen leaks out if we ever need to unscrew to refill and there is a good amount of product waste which gets the rest of the bottle messy. For this reason, we will be going back to the old fashion way of hand application.

These are great for kids that hate getting sunscreen rubbed in. They work so well. Best to fill with a thicker sunscreen though.

These are great. Just fill and roll. There is nothing I hate more then applying sunscreen on my children becuase I can't stand the feeling of it on my hands...these definitely do the trick. You can even roll it right on their face.. so great! Best invention...

Kids use this, I use it just as much. Makes applying sunscreen easy af. Make sure the ball is coated by just shaking the solar buddy downward (like a sauce bottle). All my sunscreens work in this as they're thicker consistency - anything you'd buy in a big 1L + bottle. Two weeks of daily use and no issues.
