Longer Ray5 10 Watt Laser, purchased 3-2023 from Amazon. I wanted to add a few lines to my review after using the Longer Ray5-10 laser. I have been having a blast with it. I can now make things I never could prior to purchasing this laser. In conjuction with Lightburn laser software it is a great asset to my shop. There is a learning curve but so much help is available on the Youtube channels. I am amazed by this machine. When I received my Longer Ray 5-10 Watt Laser, I found it well packaged and arrived in perfect condition. Assembly was easy. I purchased this Longer Ray5 10 Watt Laser to help my daughter with a production laser engraving job she was working on. To accomplish this, I mounted the laser to a 3/4 in. thick hard flat compressed wood board and covered that with a 20 gauge steel plate. I made custom legs as I needed the rigidity and placed them so I could use them to align my engraving fixutre plate. I also moved the touch pad control up higher as I needed to slide my fixtrue in and out from the front. After installing lightBurn on my computer I quickly discovered that this is some great software. It was easy and intuitive to use. I was able to create her logo and engrave it on the first try. I almost couldn't believe it. I was able to adjust the power and speed easily. I am engraving on the top of a 2" diameter ABS plastic ball where the graphics are 1 1/2 inch wide. The Longer Ray5 10 Watt Laser was able to do this easily. I adjusted the height on the laser modual to just clear the ball and pushed start and was pleasantly suprised to see it engraved the logo on top and down the sides of the ball witout a rotary table or a Z axis move. The precise laser beam does a great job. The ease of use of this laser and software is amazing. This is the first laser machine I owned. Before I began assembly, I had a couple of questions and Longer customer service was attentive and answered my questions in a timely manor. I was very impressed by the touch screen and its functions. I have a touch screen on my 3D printer and wanted one on my laser machine, and the Longer Ray5 10 Watt Laser comes with one standard. I highly recommend this Longer Ray5 10 Watt Laser. To show you how the Longer Ray5 10 Watt Laser engraves on a ball I clipped the Longer logo and imported it into Lightburn and engraved it on one of the 2 in. diameter balls. See pictures. I still have to make 2 slide in fixtures and may include those after completion. Each fixture plate will hold 36 2 in. ABS balls. I also will make an enclosure wit a vent. Dale

This has been a great product for me and I have been able to make a ton of amazing projects from Valetine's day cards for my granddaughter's class, coaster for a ladies tea, and photo frames for a father daughter dance at my granddaughter's school, gift card holders and so much more. It is very user friendly, was easy to set up and get started. It does the cuts in a very timely fashion. I am so glad to have this product and all the things that I am able to make with it.

Assembly was pretty straight forward. Huge learning curve with any software. Settled on Lighthouse because fo all the available tutorials on YouTube.

I use this laser everyday. There is a learning curve to all lasers, but overall this is very easy to use, especially with lightburn. Build quality is good, and the cutting bed is large, and expandable. I use the 10W version for all my 5mm plywood cuts, and it does a great job, often without using all the available power. The cuts are accurate and it replicates complex shapes well.

What can't I say about this? I love this laser. Perfect for just starting out, or getting a bit more into it. Obviously, it can't really hold much to the really fancy enclosed machines, but for a basic frame laser it's much more than I expected. I got this around Christmas as a present to myself and had gotten such a good deal on the 10w. After setting it up, which was fairly easy, I was surprised at how powerful it was. My brother and I did some research to see what it could accomplish and while I haven't personally tested how strong the laser is, it was much more than I expected. Overall the quality of the frame and laser seem pretty decent. It's not terribly noisy when running, but the pitch can be quite annoying to some if you don't like higher frequencies. The laser itself seems to be fairly accurate and cuts a nice clean line. Definitely recommend an air assist system or something to help with the smoke, which sadly it didn't come with but they're easy enough to find.

Finished setting up the Longer Ray5 this week. It was a breeze to assemble. I had already watched a couple tutorials on assembly. Wasn’t really necessary as it’s a straightforward machine to assemble. Completed my first two test engravings which are located on the supplied Micro SD card. Both turned out great. Lastly completed an engraving of my logo on one of the cutting boards I made. Again, it turned out great. My greatest hurdle is going to be learning the Lightburn software. I am confident this laser is going to be a great addition to my woodworking shop. I do recommend a couple accessories; get the air assist, and honeycomb base for cutting and some sort of air extractor/purifier.

This unit would not work properly. Upon connection to Lightburn, it moved to the far left rear corner and when it hit the stop, it just kept trying to move rearward, making a terrible noise. Their support was no help at all. The bracket that mounts the laser head to the unit had the holes threaded on the wrong side. When I told support that, they said the unit didn't need those screws and then told me I could buy longer screws locally. I was in customer service for over 40 years and would have never suggested anything like that. It seems to me that quality is severely lacking at this company. Their support also told me the problem was my fault for not installing the limit switch. There was no limit switch to install. I followed their documentation plus watched several online videos about the assembly. I guess when you can't help someone, you blame it on the customer.

The machine was well packed and all the pieces needed to assemble the unit were well marked as to what they were for. The instructions were clear and precise and assembly went without any problems. I made some test pieces and was very happy with the results, I do, however, highly recommend getting the air assist unit if you are going to cut, it makes a big difference in the cut, and it had no problem cutting 6mm Baltic Birch. I did, however, drop and lose a small screw and bushing. I contacted support and was surprised at the quick response and resolution of my problem. Support is outstanding, as well as the machine, I highly recommend this unit.

Does anyone know the dimensions of the focus tool (the meta cylinder to adjust the height if the laser)? My guess is the manufacturer forgot to package one or.sent me a used one. Everything looks brand new so I'm assuming one just was not packaged

Longer, una garanzia. Ottimo laser, preciso, veloce e facile da montare. La potenza del laser da 10w, mi permette di arrivare a tagliare compensato da 10mm in 3 passaggi e quello da 8mm in 1 passaggio soltanto. Io ho implementato una pompa d’assistenza aria, perché lo faccio muovere più lentamente di quanto indicato in tabella, quindi avevo bisogno di disperdere il calore per non far bruciare troppo il legno e il risultato è ottimo. La precisione del laser mi permette di incidere fotografie con un’alta risoluzione. Al momento non ho ancora provato altri materiali.

Laser potente e de boa qualidade, facil de montar, requer um bocado de aprendizagem para usar mas tirando isso é uma boa maquina, tive apenas um pequeno problema no encaixe de dois parafusos na parte de trás do laser. Recomendo totalmente e para o preço dificilmente se arranja um produto preço/qualidade melhor.

Emballage bien conditionné et protégé (comme on peut le voir sur ma première photo) 📦 Concernant le montage c'est à la portée de tous avec un schéma de montage en 6 étapes bien expliqué en français et avec des images ainsi que des pochettes numérotées pour chaque étapes. Petite astuce que j'ai pris en vidéo pour le montage des vis de chaque courroies car j'ai mis un peu de temps avant de trouver cette astuce. Une vidéo est également disponible sur la carte sd 👍 Ayant fait pas mal de recherches et comparaisons sur les graveuse laser j'ai rapidement pris en main la Longer Ray5 en utilisant le logiciel Lightburn (présent sur la Sd). 🔥 Je me suis fabriqué un petit support avec une table sur laquelle j'ai gravé une matrice pour positionner mes gravures (voir deuxième photos) du coup je peux me passer de brancher un pc pour cibler ma zone de gravure. De plus la Ray5 permet avant de lancer la gravure de simuler la zone de gravure/découpe 👍 Après quelques jours d'utilisation je suis déjà satisfait de pouvoir graver mais aussi découpé sans difficulté 🤩
