How does this extend color? It has alcohol in it, isn't that what strips color? Thanks in advance!

Hi there, it's actually water that strips color. Moisture can lift the hair cuticles, and when the hair cuticles are lifted, dye molecules can escape, and that's how hair color fades. What you want to avoid is sulfate which can possibly act as an abrasive causing more hair cuticles to be lifted (though there isn't a solid scientific study to back this claim). The alcohol you see in the ingredients of this product is the one with a really long chain. It acts as a foaming surfactant. Hope this helps!

How many oz is this? The bottle pictured says 6oz but the shipping weight is only 2.4 oz.

Fluid Ounces and Weight are totally different. There is 6 FL OZ of product.

Does this contain sulfate?

No if you look at the ingredients it doesn’t say sulfate.
