Great for injured or arthritic hand.
Easy too use chopping vegetables, fruit and meat on your dinner plate. Perfect for my arthritic injured hand.

One handed chopping is a breeze!!
My husband (who loves to cook!!) had a stroke last year. Using a traditional knife was quite difficult with one hand. The mezaluna is made for one handed cutting and allowed my husband to do most of his own prep work again! He has 2 of them. One to wash in the dishwasher and one to use while the other one washes. I put it in the very back of the top rack in the middle with the blade up. This reduces the chances of injury from the blade. VERY SHARP BLADE! So be extra careful! I use it as well and really like how effectively it cuts. My husband has a special cutting board with spikes on it to hold the food in place. This allows him to cut securely and the mezaluna makes quick work of food prep!

Sharp rocker blade
I purchased this for elderly parent to facilitate cutting food, meat in particular. The handle is easy to hold and the blade is quite sharp and has a smooth rocker motion. We could not use it though because it was too difficult to get the protective sleeve on and off with an unsteady hand. (The sleeve would need to be placed in order to carry it to the dining area.). I had to return as it didnโt meet the criteria for my parentโs need.

I love it so much, I'm buying a 2nd one!
I love this knife! Have had it for 9 months now and I use it almost daily to quickly slice vegetables for stir fry or grilling. It is light weight and the handle/grip is comfortable and non-slip. Note: My left (non-dominant) hand functions, but is arthritic. The dominant right hand has amputated fingers so cannot hold tools or utensils. This rocking ulu knife allows me to cut and chop vegetables and herbs more easily with my left hand than with a regular kitchen knife that requires sliding motion.

What took me so long to discover this gem?
Got this to chop salads. Got tired of the drudgery of slice, slice, chop, chop, etc. This has made it soooo easy. It makes quick work of it all.

Not a fan
I thought this would make it easier to chop salads but it doesn't. You have to press hard to slice lettuce or some pieces will be chopped and some won't. It can't handle tomatoes well at all, and nothing comes out even. Maybe it's good if you want to chop everything super small, but if you don't, this will just make things more messy and difficult.
