Design House Terrace Keyed Entry Door Knob, Polished Brass

This is a well-priced, good quality doorknob and lock. The knob and key are both made of sturdy material that feels good to the touch, and doesn't damage easily. There's just one thing: I am a highly forgetful person. This doorknob was installed on an interior door: the door to my bedroom. One chilly, late evening, I stepped out of the room and impulsively locked the door behind me.. without bringing a key with me. What began then was an adventure in the dead of night that kept both myself and my boyfriend awake until 4am on a school night (we both attend college). We tried to scale the condo to get to the second floor window using stacked storage bins, a spare door, a step ladder, and one another. However, we are both quite short (I am 4'11" and he is 5'1"). He called the police (?), and they offered to come over and help us break our door open, but would not assist us in climbing through the second story window (reasonable). We declined the kind offer. We then visited our neighbors and borrowed their ladder, and in her infinite wisdom, one of our neighbors gave us a sturdy hammer. Once climbing in to the room didn't work, we decided to try to pick the lock. I searched for tutorials and we took our turns attempting to follow the directions of a man on the screen. To no avail. I called around for locksmiths, but it was already around 2am at the time and no one available was within our price range. So we gave up. We looked at the hammer. Our last option. It was just past 4am by the time we were able to enter our bedroom. It took us hours of labor to get the door open. The knob caved in (eventually), but the lock held firm and could not be tampered with using any tools. To summarize: this is a good freaking door knob. Or we're just shite thieves, which I suppose isn't entirely unlikely. We're choosing to focus on the positives here, though -- this is a solid knob with a satisfying, well-built locking mechanism. You will most definitely want to have a backup key hidden somewhere in your house, or an alternative method of entry if you're anything like us.

They seem ok, I bought two. One kinda came apart, when I dry fit the latch to make sure the door could shut with it in place a "D" shaped piece of metal came out of the works when actuated, by closing the door, without the handles in place. Seemed weird I've never had a door latch fall apart when actuated without the rest of the lock. Used to work maintenance, done a lot of locks. It was easy enough to fiddle back in place. Keys work decently, handles turn smooth, stays latched, I guess that's all a guy can ask for

HORRIBLY CHEAP!!! IT NORMALLY TAKES ME 10 MINS TO CHANGE A DOOR KNOB. I SPENT TWO HOURS AND STILL COULDNT INSTALL THIS CROOKED DOOR KNOB. NOTHING ALIGNS, IS CHEAPELY MADE, AND HAS AN EXTENDABLE LATCH THAT CAUSES THE WHILE MECHANISM NOT WORK PROPERLY!!! STAY AWAY!!! ITS A WASTE OF MONEY!!

This lockable door knob is fine...not great, not made that well, but does the job. Pretty easy to install, locks, and turns pretty well. If you are looking for an inexpensive door knob this will work.

Of the two doorknobs I had recently purchased, one had a defective thumb turn lock, which was discovered after two days of operation. A 5 year limited warranty is a feature of this locking door knob, but because of the inability of returning this product to Amazon.com, Inc., I have chosen to not purchase this locking doorknob again on Amazon.com’s website in the future. I appreciate and thank you for your business.

Works perfectly well. Cannot see on the picture but on the other side there is a button lock. It look beautiful.

Even better irl, very good quality. In contrast to the door knob I was replacing, this one is NOTICEABLY superior. The colour is nice too, gives off a more antique look. Also, super easy to install!

It works perfectly, but it feels a little cheap-but then again-it is cheap. Can't go wrong, very nice handle.
