Just way better than the cheap sander I had before
Picked this up after dealing with my old generic belt and disc sander, which was loud, flimsy, and honestly frustrating to use. The Bucktool is just solid. Direct drive motor doesnโt bog down, builds are actually sturdy, and itโs noticeably quieter. No vibration rattling everything apart.Worth the money?Yeah it costs more than the budget options but not by huge amounts. Once you use something thatโs actually built properly you realise the cheap ones are kind of a waste. This just works without complaints.Bonus: comes with 2 dust collector ports. If you have used the cheaper ones, you would know how beneficial that is.Good sander, would recommend.

Great. Powerful.
It's a great tool. Powerful and does the job. Only downside is how many screws you have to undo in order to change the belt. Bit of a faff but not the end of the world for such a great machine.

Incredible
This purchase has been incredible for my business. I had been using a horizontal belt sander but it kept packing up and I had to wait for replacements under warranty / buy a second for the interim. I hadnโt realised just how difficult and slow it was until I got this. The work I do now is just effortless and fast. I bought a second in the sale so as to not over tax the machine as I use a belt sander for about an hour a day, sometimes more. Could not be more pleased, I just really hope they last!

The sander seems well made
Initially well pleased. Very well packaged and without damage.Only issue is the small metal pointer on the mitre guage. It's slightly too long which binds on the guage. Should be easy to file down rather than return

Very powerful
Only used the supplied paper but the disk ate the wood I tested it with. The belt worked well with some bolts.Very happy with it so far. I can not comment on how long it will last but it is heavy and has no wobble. The packaging was IMHO perfect, including a metal plate to protect the disk.

Bucktool belt sander. 8in disc.
I have owned the Bucktool sander for about 15 months, I think it's the best disc / belt sander, and owned a few 9 out of 10 is my score.

Some serious design and manufacturing flaws.
Well built and functional for the most part. Except .... You will want at some point to change the belt - this is unavoidable. In which case, turn to pages 14 & 15 of the instructions and you will find the information on how to disassemble the covers to get at the belt begins at paragraph 8: paras 1-7 are missing. Which is not a help, since the screws you need to undo are not simple to locate. Some thumb-screws would be much more user-friendly, and better engineering. As it is, the existing belt access system is poor and obscure and the screw heads once you locate them will cam-out before many belt changes have been carried out. In fact, the top screw holding the plastic end-cover on the machine I received was glued in by paint, and the screw sheared off on first (exploratory, since the machine is new) attempt to undo it. This level of careless design and manufacture is inexcusable - just a little more attention to detail would make a world of difference. If you're happy to do some basic mods to the machine at the outset, it's not a bad piece of kit, but changing the belt has been made an absolute hassle requiring initial detective work and long-term alteration to the machine. The seller seriously needs to look at this - until then, if you want a trouble-free purchase, my advice: avoid.
