Salter Chocolatier Hot Chocolate Maker, Electric Milk Frother 4 in 1

This is the third different type of milk frother I have tried over a period of a few months. The first was a special deal in a well known discount supermarket, and the second was a less well known make purchases from Amazon, at a similar price to this one. Both stopped working within a couple of weeks - the first one the power supply ceased to function and with the second one, it stopped heating and would only froth. I returned both and bought this instead as it is a well known brand and had good reviews. A few months in and it still works perfectly. It is easy to clean, even cooled and dried milk and hot chocolate comes off instantly with hot soapy water. It froths milk well, producing full foam, part foam or you can just use it to heat milk and / or hot chocolate (for the heating only function there are a few temperatures to choose from). You can froth cold milk too. I’m not really a fan of hot chocolate made this way (tastes the same as instant but more expensive) so I mainly bought it as a milk frother for coffee. Happy with purchase, and good to know that I have found one that doesn’t stop working within weeks.

I bought this for a gift. They have said that it was good and works well.

I like the Salter brand a lot, and I have 2- 3 appliances which I'm very happy with. But they NEVER put in anything like enough guidance as to how to use it, or how to clean it. I worked out what to do with my slater air-fryer - which I love! - but I cant work out this hot choco;ate maker. They need to do much better in this respect.

Broke after less than a year. Amazon great customer service as always to refund without issue.

Love this! Easy to use and clean. Good design of product and makes a lovely hot chocolate. Froths the milk just right and it’s not too hot to drink once it’s made. My son loves this and will now make himself a white hot chocolate as it’s so easy to use. The milk level is just right for a mug, and then just put the chocolate flakes/powder in and turn it on.

It's small. Better get espresso cups for what this makes. There's two hard to see max fill lines on inside, and so it's very easy to overfill when attempting a frothy one, resulting in spillage. (see picture) Having never had anything like this before, at first I wondered if I was stupid or if there was a piece missing. Made the mistake of contacting Salter's customer service. (Ha!) "In order to assist you further, I will need some more information from you. Please see below: - Model number & date code (located on the base/back of your product) - Date & where purchased - Proof of purchase (receipt or bank statement) Once I have this, I can help to resolve this issue for you. " What a load of hassle! It's your company's machine, and why all the date+where+proof malarkey? Is that so they can be judgemental over how much I paid, I wondered? Incidentally, dear reader, I got it on sale for £42, which is ok, had I paid the usual £60ish price point, this review would not have been as good, as it's not worth that much for the small size it makes. Which is a pity, because the velvety froth hot chocolate is just how you'd want it to be, but half a mug as I've found through trial and error (and a few messy kitchen sides) is not really enough, that might be enough for you, but if you want your standard mug full, you really will need a bigger machine.

Great works really well The frothing is quiet too Cleaning can be a bit difficult, the whisk head comes off and can be a bit tricky to put back on (make sure you don’t lose it!) But overall, very happy with this. My partner had a more expensive one previously, and this one is just as good

Very nice hot chocolate maker really easy to use and easy to clean ,I have used it to make hot chocolate and milk froth for coffee and I can't fault it.I have been looking for a hot chocolate maker for some time and I thought that this could be a good choice for less than £50 I would happily recommend it and a great gift for hot chocolate lovers, all you need is 35grams(6 tspoons)of chocolate shavings and milk(I haven't tried any milk alternatives but I know that you can use any milk)

Unfortunately it stopped working after 3 uses.. had to return it back. Frothing process takes a very long time. Im sure there are users that had better experiences with this, but unfortunately my experience wasn’t good

Chocolate keeps on burning on the bottom & very difficult to clean. For milk only it's perfect. Hot chocolate it's not good & I would like to return

I love my Hot Chocolate maker. Saw it advertised and had to have one as I love my hot chocolate drinks
