Why is my holographic mold still sticky after i cure it?

If the holographic mold is not transparent, the uv resin does not cure well since the UV light needs to penetrate from it to cure the UV resin. If you are using transparent molds, please try to cure it longer. Additionally, please do not add too much pigment, which will influence the curing effect. What is the best way to remove excess up resin after it has cured?

It's suggested for you to polish it with a sandpaper and then recoat a new layer for a shiny surface.

Which one is better to paint on a thin topcoat?

This stuff is fine for a thin top coat if you want to paint it on, I always heat up my resin first with an embossing gun to make it more workable and level better. Although when it comes to hardness ratings, their original formula is slightly harder and might make a better top coat, but it is thicker so you will have to make sure to heat it well. I personally use the thicker stuff for doming, dipping and coating for this reason, and prefer lets resin uv resin over J diction overall.

I don't understand the difference between your different UV resins. what would be reasons for choosing each?

thin  UV resins are better for small jewelry molds, but it usually has a slightly lower hardness rating of around 82D... thicker UV resins are better for final coats, doming and dipping and usually has a higher hardness rating of 90D. Since UV resin is used differently than two part epoxy, you have to work in small layers and sometimes the thinner stuff is better when you need it very very thin layer for something in particular you might be working on. The biggest mistake people make when using UV resin and having curing problems is because they attempt to make projects by filling up a mold the way you would with epoxy resin.. not working in small layers will result in warping, shrinking and incomplete caring which will cause it to be sticky.
