Is it okay to use these with hot water for tea?

They are a very heavy glass mug. I personally would not use any glass mug for hot tea.

These are 1/2 liter mugs. That converts to slightly more than a pint. Really nice quality, but it sounds like you are looking for 1/2 PINT and not 1/2 LITER, so they are larger than you would expect.
