Q: Are bottom spikes removable - for hardwood floors - or does this require additional spike pads not included with this purchase?

THe speaker stand comes unassembled. Therefore if you do not need the spikes you can simply not mount them. Although I would recommend using rubber mounts/pads to isolate the hardwood floor from the speaker stand
