Spice Funnel

Every once in a while something very simple can be perfectly designed and manufactured. This is one of those products. I do a lot of cooking and use a LOT of spices, so I often buy larger quantities and refill my smaller spice jars. It has always been a frustrating challenge: skinny tube on the bottom of a narrow, unbalanced funnel which is difficult to keep from toppling over and doesn't hold a lot at one time. It requires constant poking with a skewer to get the spices to flow into the jar. It takes forever, and a lot of the spice ends up on the counter, wasted. This stainless steel spice funnel works flawlessly: a perfectly shaped top of the funnel that catches all of the spice without spilling. A large bottom tube that fits all of my spice jars, and the spice flows quickly and easily. It lifts out of the jar with no spillage. What used to take forever, now only takes seconds. A perfectly designed and executed kitchen tool. It comes in a plastic zip bag that keeps it clean but offers no protection. Even though it is made of really sturdy stainless steel, it might bend out of shape if thrown in a drawer, which could affect how well it functions. I punched a hole above the zip so I could hang it on a hook, thereby keeping its shape (and making it easier to find than digging in a drawer!) The addition of a small handle with a hole for hanging might be a nice addition, but not necessary. I love it every time I use it. I threw out all those flimsy, wasteful funnels cluttering up my kitchen. This is the perfect spice funnel. LOVE it.

I grow and dry many of the herbs that we use in our cooking. With those herbs I make a number of herb mixes. I have for a very long time lamented the lack of a funnel specifically designed for filling standard herb jars. This is the answer to my problem. The funnel is perfect as it has a wide mouth and a short wide neck that just fits inside the jars. In addition it rests securely on the mouth of the jar. A standard funnel has a a wide mouth but a long narrow neck which (1) becomes clogged with the dried leaves and (2) projects down into the jars so they cannot be completely filled without stopping, removing the funnel and replacing it so that it rests on top of the herbs in the partially filled jar. This slows my job and is infuriating. This funnel speeds the job and curbs my temper. My only regret is that I did not find it sooner!

That’s product works so incredibly well with the rest of my spices and what I love about it is that it’s so easy to clean. I was using a silicone one and it was so incredibly hard to use and clean.

This has been fantastic!! It used to take me 15-20 min to refill my spice jars. I was using a paper towel as a funnel and it was messy and time consuming. With this funnel I don't dread the task anymore. The top is large enough that I can just dump it from the bulk container right into the funnel without any fuss or careful pouring. Everything I have tried so far has just funneled right into the jars without catching on the sides. The funnel has held up well to my dishwasher and is easy enough to hand clean as well. It is a bit larger than I had anticipated but that was because I didn't pay much attention to the dimensions other than the small end but the larger funnel mouth makes pouring easier in the long run. If I could change anything I might add a ring to the outside so I could hang it on the pantry shelf but otherwise it's perfect. As a small note it does not have a loop for a finger grip like other funnels I've looked at but unless your funneling slime I can't see any reason to need one.

Great funnel! I organized my spice cabinet. I used this funnel to transfer the spices to my new jars. The blue silicone collapsible funnel that came with my new spice jars & labels sucks; the spices stick to it and get caught in the ridges. This wide stainless funnel also works well for powdery items like my collagen powder. Normal funnels are too narrow at the tip to let bulky spices like rosemary or parsley pass through. I like that it's made out of stainless steel and not plastic. Pictures are before & after showing what this funnel helped me do quickly without any spills :)

I've spent years spilling spices and peppercorns every time I refill the bottles. This funnel is the perfect size to fit everything, including pepper mills. I took 1 star away because the edge of the funnel was a little sharp. I used an emery board to dull it down a little and now I won't get cut or tear up my dish towels.

Just used this for the first time and Wow! Makes refilling my spice jars so much easier. Definitely worth the price and cupboard space,

Avete mai provato a mettere pepe o sale nei macina spezie? Se sì, quante volte avete sparso sale o pepe ovunque? Questo piccolo imbuto in acciaio inox calza a pennello (io ho i macina spezie della Peugeot, ma la misura mi sembra assolutamente standard) e permette questa banale operazione in pochi secondi. 10 euro potrebbero sembrare troppi per un imbuto seppur di inox, però onestamente il suo utilizzo rende questa operazione di routine tanto più veloce e semplice... lo riacquisterei sicuramente.

It’s not so pretty, however, it does it’s job, it’s practical and functional. I have used it for all my spices as it fits perfectly in the aperture of the small glass containers. I also use it for my coffee machine when I add the loose grinded coffee, it prevents the coffee grind mess when adding it to the small opening; less mess, less cleanup - works for me!

Cet entonnoir est parfait pour transvaser des épices en sachet dans un flacon à épices type Ducros. Il est suffisamment large pour remplir les flacons sans en mettre la moitié à côté. De plus, le matériau de l'entonnoir est très lisse ce qui empêche aux épices d'adhérer aux parois et facilite beaucoup le nettoyage. Seul inconvénient : son prix. Malgré tout un bon achat.

Really useful, exactly as shown - decent quality. I use it to help bottle up bath salts.
