Any trouble with cards falling out?

No, the cards are in there pretty tight. Sometimes getting them out can be hard. Zippers are very smooth too.

I have no idea. I do believe it is leather... but not soft and pliable. I do like mine however, because it's functional and attractive. My complaint is that the compartments for the cards and driver license is pretty tight. I anticipate that eventually they will loosen.
