Good Dye Young Hair Lightener Kit with Dust Free Powder Lightener and 25 Volume Developer - Moisturizing Bleaching Kit - Vegan Hair Bleach (4 oz.)

Very good product! I have been using Manic Panic Raven for years to dye my hair, and even had my hair professionally dyed red before, but after 10 minutes, my roots were so bright! My ends lifted beautifully as well. I did see a few spots of red dye, from my past dye, but it didn't bother me at all cause I was going red again regardless. Not only does my hair feel so much softer using Good Dye Young products, but I could tell my hair wasn't as damaged as it would be if I used another bleach. My hair is so soft, and not brittle. I knew this would be a good brand as soon as I saw the blonde hair after ten minutes.

I left this in my hair for like 10-15 minutes because I was scared I was gonna end up bleaching my hair too much. I really just wanted to lighten my hair and sun in wasn’t doing it fast enough and wasn’t really lightening my hair as much as I wanted it too. I only put the bleach on the top half of my hair and I was able to brush the bleach through my hair to try to get a more even highlighted look( I don’t recommend brushing it combing your hair while bleaching I broke a comb) like I said I probably left it in for max 25 minutes and I could already see the difference. It was not a drastic change but my boyfriend said my hair looked more textured and like like it was more defined I suppose. I’m very happy with this dye it didn’t sting like some bleach does. That being said I did only have it in for a short time and tried to avoid my scalp. I usually get real into my roots which is probably why I have experienced stinging while bleaching my hair. I would need two bottle of the larger size if I wanted to bleach my whole head of hair but I only did the top half so I could have more dimension and I used one whole package to do so. I never opened the second package I ordered because I was only doing the top half though I likely could have opened the other bottle just to be sure my hair was evenly coated. My hair goes about to my shoulders or breast and I do not have thin hair at all I have thick hair but it is not incredibly thick. If your hair goes past your boobs and isn’t super thin then you might want to pick up a third bottle if you plan to dye your whole head. I think two bottles would have been a perfect amount if I did my whole head but I didn’t so I’m not sure. I do plan on lighting my whole head a bit more because I would like my hair to be lighter than what the 20 minutes. I think if you have dark hair and plan to add color then definitely check and go for the 50 minute mark they warn you about. I think if you just want to lighten your hair 30-45 should be perfect. You absolutely need toner whenever you bleach your hair I got the shimmer (sparkle?) toner it’s purple I have yet to try it but someone else recommended it and it seems good quality. Even with just the 20 minutes my hair is brassy but there are some parts in the front that don’t seem super brassy but I’ll still need to tone after I try to lighten my hair again.

This is a small kit for doing things like highlights or bangs. You get a small bottle of developer and a small packet of lightening powder and nothing else. It says streaks and strands in the front of the box, in light coloring, but it’s readable. If you want to do your whole head, this will not be enough unless you have a very short cut. The instructions and other information are on the inside of the box. The bleach when mixed is a thick texture and has strong fumes. It did dry out my hair a little bit, but that’s normal. I left the bleach on for about 25 minutes and it lifted several levels, I then followed it with a deep conditioning treatment. If you are not used to bleaching your hair yourself, you might want to research using home bleaching products before using something like this as it’s easy for lightening products to irritate your skin or damage your hair if used improperly. Typically, if you have very dark hair or if you’ve been using darker box dye, lighteners might not get the same results as someone that already has a lighter hair color. This kit does not include the tools to apply the product, but I believe this product is aimed at people that are used to coloring their hair at home, though I think it should include a pair of gloves.

I have had my hair bleached before at a salon but this was my first time on my own. The instructions were on the inside of the box, which is fine, but I didn't think they were detailed enough. The lightener really didn't irritate my skin as badly as it would at the hairdressers. It was fairly easy to use. I watched some YouTube videos and just guessed but it looks okay. I probably could have left it on a bit longer. This was after about 40 minutes.

I normally don’t write reviews but THIS PRODUCT IS AMAZING, my natural hair is dark and I was surprised it came out blonde!!!!!!! I was very surprised to see the results come out very fast! This product is very straightforward, the instructions, and the product itself is very honest and easy!!!! It is very fast acting so be sure to keep an eye on it, I left it in and applied it for approximately 42 minutes. I am very happy with the results and I’d definitely recommend it! My hair was soft and normal after the process. This was my very first time bleaching my hair, I would recommend more than three bottles for hair that is in between shoulder and chin, I did miss some spots but it looks beautiful! I ordered a smaller size than I should have but damn did the small one still did a good job! I did end up buying two of the smaller size for this product but it worked a miracle on my hair and was able to help me get my hair light enough to get my dream hair color dyed on. I highly recommend this to anyone who has dark hair and is trying to get it as the light as possible! I purchased this on impluse when splat was out of stock locally, not realizing it was a "streaks and strands" kit. After emailing the company for advise including my hair length and coloring history, I was assured 2 lightening kits and 2 tubes of dye should cover my whole head. The bleaching process went easy, and my natural hair/grow out lightened from a darkish medium brown to a light yellow. I had a fair amount of breakage, but not drastically more than I get just washing my hair. My previously dyed ends ended up a bright purpley pinkish. It was slightly patchy, but that was likely due to my relative inexperience with lightening kits (last time I bleached was 7 years ago, and I had very short hair at the time. I felt like for my hair length (mid back - higher than elbows) they should have advised 3 kits. It was difficult to cover everything and I was literally scraping as much bleach out of the bowl as possible. (That's another thing. Maybe indicate on the box you will need a bowl?) The smell was not overly harsh or fumie, but still definitley smelled like bleach. Update: I have to say GDY customer service is excellent. They promptly answered my inital emailed question, and responded to this review with an offer for a refund. 9/10 for customer service.

I love supporting Hayley Williams, knowing this is her brand makes me happy. It works great and it comes with a lot of product!
