Only need minimum electronics skills
My “L” button has not worked for at least 5 years, and my “R” had recently started to go, which severely affected my gameplay. These are great, works perfectly, but will say that you need some experience with taking apart electronics and putting them back together. There are springs that you have to avoid falling out, and know how to replace if they do fall. It’s easy to install, though, just need a minimum of electronics skills. Fits perfectly into the spots it’s made for. Version happy to finally have all my buttons functional again!

Works perfect
One shoulder button wasn’t working, it sucked cause it made Luigi’s mansion unplayable. I popped in these new triggers into my original 3DS and they work like a charm.

Perfect replacement & easy to install
Perfect, exact replacement for the 'L' and 'R' buttons on my 1st generation 3DS. Shipped fast and in as describedI would say it's a pretty easy install, but if you've never done any kind of repairs like this or had a 3DS apart, then I would recommend looking up instructions online. These do not come with any kind of documentation and since these flex cables are fairly fragile, it would be worth the few minutes of research to avoid any damage to them during install. Install time is maybe 10 minutes if you are taking your time with it.Extremely happy with the product and worked like a charm.

It works
Works great a little difficult to install on the right side but it works just as great as the original one.

Works Fine
Took about 5 minutes to install. Both L and R buttons are fully functional now. The only reason this is getting 4 stars is because the R button pcb was cut a little too big so I had to forcefully push it down to fit in place.

45 minutes of work and about $7 vs $100? Easy choice.
My launch 3DS’s right shoulder button had been broken for a couple years when I asked a local repair shop how much they would charge for a repair job. When the guy at the counter gave me a $100 as an estimate, I left and bought this, instead.I’ve never done any electronic repairs before, but watching a youtube video and with an extra small screwdriver and a swiss army knife, I was able to get everything disassembled, uninstall the faulty button, install the new one, and reassemble everything in under three quarters of an hour. Getting the new button’s cable situated just right was slightly tricky, as was reconnecting the other button’s cable, but ultimately I’d say it was a pretty simple job, even for me, and now my 3DS works like new. And since they give you replacements for both shoulder buttons, I’ve got a spare in case the left one ever goes, too.

Fixed my broken right shoulder button!
I purchased this to bring my 3DS back to life as I had been avoiding using my 3DS because my right shoulder button no longer worked. It still clicked, it still pushed in and out, but wouldn't register inputs at all. After craving to replay some of my 3DS games, I decided to just take the plunge and fix it. This replacement sure enough fixed my issue, my right shoulder button now works exactly as when it was new. I'll admit, I have no use for the left one at the current time. This is annoying to install, but that's not at the fault of whoever makes these. It's just the nature of 3DS. Please note: I installed this on the old, original 3DS. I seriously doubt these parts will work in any other model as I believe every other model uses a different form factor but I could be wrong. The only real complaint I could even think of, and it's nitpicking quite a bit, is that the "click" sound is way, way duller on the new switch compared to the OEM left shoulder click. This really shouldn't be a problem for anyone, but I suppose it's worth mentioning.
