Runs cool ๐
Was hunting for a 10G-T SFP and found a lot of people complaining that they run hotโฆ stumbled across some posts that this SFP runs significantly cooler then others and I took a puntโฆ installed in a Mikrotik switch, looked at the health of the SFP and was happily surprised that the temperature reported as 51c while xfering data at 10G speed. Highly recommended and Iโm now looking to buy a few more to put in a CRS309.

Works as advertised, good for different speed nics!
Works as expected. I needed 2.5gbs and didn't realize the 10gbs ones auto negotiate down to 1gbs if you don't have a 10gbs nic. Also all the technical info shows up on the switch with these, their old ones did not (could be because I was using a 10gbs on autoed down to 1gbs?). Then I upgraded my internet to 2gbs, now I am seeing internet speeds around 2.5gbs, amazing! I have not had to do file transfers in a while, I was using a 10gb pcie card in my old pc, can't use it in this one.

Avoid
Device couldn't auto negotiate to 1.25 Gbps link speed. When I tried to force the link to that speed, it wouldn't work at all. No matter what I tried, the device just stayed stuck at 10 Gbps and wouldn't auto-negotiate to proper speeds when paired to any interface at varying link speeds. This caused issues when trying to communicate with my ISP via a WAN link. There is quite a bit of overhead as well, expect to lose about 200+ Mbps on your link, even when it does work. Runs hot. Quality is average. I feel like the compatibility isn't great. It was easy to setup. It has a single port capacity. All in all, I feel like this wasn't worth the price I paid.

Compatible with ASUS XG-U2008 Switch
I bought my ASUS XG-U2008 Switch more than 5 years ago. I knew it had 2 x 10gbps copper ports, i didnt realize how fast it can potentially give me, this was an awesome first time experience. Note: they do run hot to the touch. so be aware this is expected from the SFP+ Copper.

Runs Hot but Delivers Speed and Compatibility
SFP+ to RJ45 copper transceivers run hot to the touch because they draw significantly more power than fiber optic modules, often over 3W, to process high-speed 10G Ethernet signals. The small metal case of the transceiver traps heat without an easy way to dissipate it, so these modules can reach temperatures up to 70ยฐC (158ยฐF) and feel very hot during normal operation. Fiber or DAC modules run much cooler by comparison. My 10G Setup: I. Dell Optiplex 7060 SFF i7 8700 (256GB NVMe M.2) running OPNsense A.
