I noticed in the instructions that it says not to lean against this heating pad. i would never have bought it if i'd known that! is sunbeam serious?

Leaning/laying on it can bend the electrical coils in the heating pad. Eventually, the pad is ruined. Over the years, I've ruined three that way. I'm now on my 4th. So far, it's not squashed., but it will be. lol

Why doesn’t the pad heat up in the front?...shouldn’t it heatup everywhere of the pad?

There is no heating wire in the front part. The front part only has some heavy beads on the margin to make it stay on your shoulder.

How do you wash this thing? Do you leave that little attachment cord on?

I hand wash mine. You can disconnect cord and wash in cold water on gentle cycle. Dryer or line dry completely before plugging back in!!!!

Can you have moist heat?

I put use a wash cloth wett and ring it out and lay on my neck then put the Heat pad on top of the cloth works great
