Lunar Tides Semi-Permanent Hair Color (43 colors) (Iris, 4 fl. oz.)

I usually use Arctic Fox or Ion dye, but unfortunately Sally’s hasn’t had hardly anything in stock lately and amazon didn’t have the color of Arctic Fox that I wanted, so I got impatient & thought I would try this Lunar Tides. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Read the other reviews and listen to them unlike I did. As soon as I saw this jar of dye I could tell that it was not as good quality as other dyes that I have used. I ordered the iris color & it was a darker purple than I expected (it was supposed to be pastel) however the color was also translucent rather than opaque, which I thought was a bit odd. I tried to return it, but apparently if the sell is through a third party seller than you have to pay for your own shipping. In this case the shipping was more than the product, so there was no point in returning it. I’ve learned my lesson never to buy through a third party seller again. Amazon is not trustworthy enough to buy things that I can’t return. So I did end up trying this dye. The best way I can describe it is that the texture seemed more watery then creamy like other direct dyes. So when you apply the dye it pretty much disappears in your hair. Basically the color looks dark in the jar but is very light once it’s applied, so it really doesn’t dye your hair. I’m not sure what they make it out of, but it’s very low quality.

My stylist and I paired up for this toning experiment combined with minimal low light to add some dimension to my somewhat drab naturally silver hair. The crown is untouched and lilac was woven sparingly throughout with some henna low lights added to the bottom portion. No chemicals and the result is stunning, i get compliments all the time :) Toners are nice but they don't last, Lunar Tides gives a hint of tone throughout for a month now and counting. Will definitely order more for another application when this one fades. Henna fades slowly so no need to touch up low lights anytime soon

Be cautious of this product as it doesn't seem to stick to my hair? It faded within 2 days and turned a pink color. It was not worth it. May work for freshly bleached hair but mine was still pretty light and faded to the sun or something. I definitely washed with cold water and let the dye sit in my hair long enough.

I was honestly expecting more from this dye when I got it. I'm not sure what formula is used when making this pastel color, but there is not enough of the actual pigment in this hair color to deposit on hair. The most it did was give my bleached hair a slightly cool tone, and it was patchy at best in even doing that much. I was expecting a bright pastel purple after using it, and instead basically got an anti-bronzing conditioner. And this was while applying a decent amount to my hair. I most likely won't be buying this one again, and it's steered me away from pastel colors after this...

I wanted to like this product (Vegan! Great price!! Awesome pastels! Small business!) but it's very thin compared to similar stains and even though I used it on my bleached hair, it did not cover well and color was uneven despite leaving it on for 3 hours (which I usually do with other brands of stain - this brand was still wet after 3 hours unlike others which would have soaked in and dried). It also washed out almost completely in one wash (using my regular sulfate-free shampoo - I'm an experienced bleach and hair stain user of upwards of 5 years and know how to make color last). Maybe their vivid may do better as far as coverage and hold?

Little bit darker in the hair color to apply to is much more than if it is bleached.

Worst hair color I have ever used! NOT LILAC at all, no purple tones whatsoever. I lightened my hair to level ten. Left on this product for two hours, it turned out bluish-gray!! Seriously! This has now messed up my base, recovering from this will not be easy! And let’s talk price for the tiniest jar of hair product I have ever seen! $15 is a RIP OFF! I will NEVER buy anything from this product line again. This product SUX!

Added no colour to my hair, like none. I followed all the instructions and got zero results.
