I believe it is cow hide. It's extremely high quality and very supple. The vegetable tanning refers to the method of preservation and colouring. It is NOT "fake leather" which on some products globally has become referred to as "vegan leather" as a way of making plastic sound more friendly to the environment... My wallets ageing nicely.

Does this wallet have rfid blocking ?

No it doesn’t but I just slip a rfid card into its back/inside pocket. It is a great wallet for about half a dozen cards and so cleverly made I bought a second one.
