ProSensor M70 Stud Finder with 7-Sensors, Wood & Metal Stud Detector/Wall Scanner

This is a genuine review. The item is as described. It seems to find floor joists no problem and wall wood batons. People say it works and others say it doesnt. If you get an idea from it where the joist is then slow the movement right down to give it a chance to pinpoint exactly and the green arrow will come on and show the centre of the joist. Another point here is, it says dont use rechargeables. I put 2 in to try it out as my alkaline batts dont come till tomorrow. It worked no problem with the rechargeables. The reason they say dont use rechargeables is the voltage is less in rechargeables as in 1.2v and in the alkaline batts its 1.5v -- So they could have people saying its misreading but in reality the voltage in the rechargable is a bit too weak, hence they just say dont use rechargables but its ok to use them if its reading ok. This can make some items not perform well and misread. But it was ok with mines. If you want to be sure of accuracy for a bigger job use alkalines. For quick finding of a wall baton rechargeable will be fine. Its a good gadget.

I am 73 and I have bought many stud detectors over the years. I have equally found hem all wanting. I bought this model M72 as having read the reviews and what I wished to pay I thought maybe this one. Well on testing with a piece of 12mm plasterboard and a 50mm wide stud it picked it up no problem. I have lath and plaster walls in this old house. 25 to 20mm thick plaster and it picked up every stud. This has never happened before. However when tested on a skim coated 12mm board it had difficulty. Possible picking up the screws. Easy to use, Price not too bad. All in all quite good.

This is amazing, dont know how it does what it does, but it never gets it wrong. Glad I bought this for future work.

Works great on internal stud partition walls, but fails to work if stud wall is on outside ( brick) wall. Also fails to work on foil backed plasterboard. I would not purchase again due to mentioned limitations.

Outstanding piece of kit. Wasn’t expecting much but this thing is amazing. Found every bit of timber behind all the 9mm OSB walls. Great for the pice and saved me hours of work.

This is a capable stud finder and it does the job well once you get started. The multi-sensor layout gives a clear indication of where studs are, which is exactly what you want when working on walls. To be fair, they do state that rechargeable batteries are not suitable, so that part is on me. However, the fact that batteries are not included could be made clearer. It has a touch of that old sci-fi film warning about batteries not being included. The other irritation is the button. You have to keep it held down while using it, which makes it a bit awkward to handle. An on/off switch would have made it much easier to use and freed up your grip. These are small design niggles rather than faults. Overall, it works well, gives reliable results, and does what it is meant to do. Just be aware of the battery requirement and how it operates before you start.

Does not work at finding studs. Just flashes and fails to do anything.

This overall is a nice piece of kit, used it a few times & has always been spot on, it does however detect a lot of things behind a plasterboard wall but for studwork take notice of the lights, 3 light showing 2 red & the centre one green shows it's a stud & the green light stated the centre of the timber

J’ai pris ce détecteur de rails de placo un peu par curiosité au départ, et au final je ne peux clairement plus m’en passer. Pour repérer les rails derrière le placo, c’est ultra pratique et ça évite de percer au hasard. Il est simple à utiliser, la détection est rapide et suffisamment précise pour savoir exactement où visser ou percer. Depuis que je l’ai, je gagne du temps et surtout j’évite les erreurs bêtes (mauvais trous, chevilles inutiles, etc.). Que ce soit pour fixer des meubles, des étagères ou faire des passages propres, ça change vraiment la vie. C’est le genre d’outil qu’on ne pense pas forcément à acheter, mais une fois qu’on l’a, on s’en sert tout le temps. Très bon produit, fiable et vraiment pratique au quotidien.

Era muy escéptico, después de haber probado otras soluciones. Me sorprendió gratamente la capacidad de detectar objetos detras del pladur. Lo recomendaría. Aunque me parece bastante caro para lo que es.

Works unsure… keeps flashing different over the same place, so i ended up pulling the fodder off to see the drywall screws and determine where the studs are. Disappointing…

Needed a good stud sensor to install shower safety bars and towel racks and my old one was very outdated,based on a small magnet. This item is great. It will pick up whatever is behind the wall so I marked 5-10 sites each time to ensure location of the stud. Every install was in a stud so the product works! I like the center green light as well. However many builders use 2 studs side by side so it would be nice to have instructions on how to address this situation. I learned more from experience.
