Science in Sport Sports Bottle, Transparent, 800ml

Good value water bottle for my road and mountain bikes, holds plenty of water for me and is soft enough to squeeze for a good drink on a hot day. No leaking, good quality lid and so far perfect for both my bikes.

I’ve been using this SIS 800ml water bottle for a while now and it’s been spot on. It’s lightweight, easy to carry, and the size is ideal whether you’re at the gym, cycling, or just keeping hydrated during the day. The squeeze design works really well – you get a good flow of water without having to tilt the bottle too much, which is especially handy during workouts. The nozzle feels secure and doesn’t leak, even when it’s in a bag, which is a big plus. I also like the simple, clean look. The transparent body makes it easy to see how much you’ve got left, and the grip shape makes it comfortable to hold, even with sweaty hands. Cleaning is straightforward, and it doesn’t retain any odd tastes or smells after washing, which can be an issue with cheaper bottles. Overall, a really solid bottle for the price. Nothing fancy, but it does exactly what you need it to do – reliably and without fuss. Would definitely recommend if you’re after a dependable sports bottle.

It does exactly what you need without any issues. Hydration is straightforward and consistent, with a steady flow that works well during training. Mixing is effective. Powder blends evenly with a quick shake and does not leave heavy clumps, which helps when using sports drinks. The lid design works well. It opens and closes securely and does not leak during use or when carried in a bag. It is easy to use mid-session without slowing you down. Cleaning is one of the best parts. The wide opening makes it easy to rinse and wash properly, which saves time and keeps it hygienic. The clear colour is useful. You can see how much you have left and check if it is clean. Quality feels good overall. It is not premium, but it is reliable and holds up well with regular use. The only reason it is not 5 stars is that it does not stand out beyond doing its job well, but for a simple, functional bottle, it delivers.

Good quality. 800mls fits bike holder. Doesn’t leak. Squeezable. Easy to drink from. Feels good enough quality that if dropped won’t break. I have two and would definitely buy again.

Water bottles ey? Who would have thought it would be such a palaver to find the right one!? But I may have found it with this one: Nice squishy plastic (but firm enough), so it’s easier to squeeze the water into your mouth! Nice soft cap that you can open with your teeth so you can keep one hand on your handlebars. Nice little design (ridge) that enables the bottle to sit in a water holder with ease. Fits my Vico Carbon Elite perfectly!! Nice wide opening, making it easier to fill - and to fit ice in for those extremely hot days out! Nice price - I.e. relatively cheap so if something does happen at least you can get another one, without breaking the bank - and at a cheaper price than a more expensive bottle. BPA free! Which is a good thing. Flow rate is pretty good. The bottle is marked to help you measure out SIS supplements if you are using. Also…sounds a little odd to say, but when you need to quench your thirst it actually TASTES like water (if you have water in your bottle obviously - if you had Lucozade in it, it would taste of that!!). Some bottles can add a plastic-y taste to the water - this one doesn’t! I use a hydration backpack as well as this on a ride, and that definitely has a distinct plastic taste to the water! So it’s nice to get the pure taste from at least 800ml (probably a little more if you fill it right to the brim). Also as it’s quite squeezable - if you’ve got anything left after a ride, you can have a decent water fight with your mates! Onto the bad points; I’ve seen from other reviews that the bottle can get discoloured if you are using a coloured fluid in your bottle - this may be the case, but it doesn’t affect the use - so far mine has stayed the same clear colour due to me just using water. Also other reviews have stated that if you drop it on its head, you will snap the nozzle - my advice is don’t drop the bottle! Although if you do have butterfingers and it does snap it’s not a hugely expensive cost to replace. Overall a pretty good bottle and a piece of kit I will always definitely carry round with me when out on the bike! I tend to use this mountain biking, and the only thing I’d suggest as an improvement is probably a nozzle cover to keep the mud and stuff out of the nozzle, but this would obviously make it a tad harder to open on the bike. Would I buy this bottle again? Maybe, although probably not as since I purchased this, SIS have released a slightly larger 1000ml bottle in the same style - and I’d probably get that instead for that little extra hydration! Big neck for easy filling, fast flowing spout for fast chugging, walls just squashy enough to let you squirt it into your mouth as fast as you like but not so soft that you spurt everywhere unintentionally (good lord). 800ml a good size. 100% watertight - never even the slightest leak. Goes through the dishwasher every week with no issues. Just don't drop it on the spout as it'll snap. The only bottles I every buy. All good. EDIT (2023): They've changed the design of the spout to one with a far inferior sealing system, meaning it's no longer leakproof. No matter how hard you push the top back down it still leaks. My kids' schoolbags and books frequently come home soaked. Possibly still good for cycling as long as they're upright in a bottle cage but no longer the great all purpose bottle for travel / gym bags etc. A real shame they changed the design as previously these were the best bottles on the market. Reduced the score from five stars to two. EDIT (Sept 2024): The good old design is back! Looks like they saw sense and scrapped the stupid leaky "improved" design. These are, once again, the best drinks bottles on the market, and great value at the current £3.50. Well done SiS!

Bottle is ok but not as advertised. Description says it's wide neck (which I wanted as it's easier to add powder and clean) it isn't. It's actually a narrower neck nthan all my other bottles. I also have an SIS wide neck bottle, so know what it should look like. See the picture. This bottle on the left, my wide neck on the right.

€4 each for a bottle was great deal on at the time. Relative drinks heaps of water & bedbound so 6 =€24 delivered :)

for the bicycle it gets dirty where you drink, so not ideal. But overal good quality and does not get so easy scratched

Used these for the bike leg of an Ironman race. They fit in the bottle cages well and they are easy to open with you mouth while riding. The optic yellow makes it easy to spot your bike during transition which is a nice added bonus.

It does what it's supposed to. No taste after a good wash out. Doesn't leak. I haven't used it to mix anything though. I'm happy with it and would recommend it. Price was good as well.
