I've seen this same product online for Â£70. However, this one is labelled 'premium'. What's the difference, please?

The Battleship Yamato has two kinds, "No.25" and "No.30".The labelled 'premium' is "No.25". "No.25" is a Flagship Model and the detailed structure which had not been reproduced until then was perfectly reproduced.Therefore the price was getting expensive.So "No.30" was renewed as a "plastic model of Battleship Yamato" which is affordable price."No.25" was launched in 04/12/2011."No.30" was launched in 30/03/2013.

Does the premium version include the deck sheets, metal gun parts and deck railings?

hello.Tamiya yamato kit nr 78025 is a very nice kit but wooden deck detail,metal gun barrels and photoetched railings are not included but some transparent windows and photoetched parts and wire and stanchion railings are inciuded.best regards Arve

does the model need to be glued together?

Yes it needs to be glued and to be painted among other things. This is not a die cast kit. If you are seeking for a die cast kit you may look at FORCES OF VALOR Kit No 86014, but in 1/700 scale.

Impressive!.

Over engineered. But having said that, it,s the best fitting kit I have ever experienced, and I have had quite a few kits. Even parts where you would expect a little sanding , clicked into position perfectly. A pleasure to build. The instructions and drawings were another matter. Confusing and inadequate to say the least. But all in all a cracking good kit. Deserves 5 stars.

A Big detailed kit; a big detailed price

This kit is expensive as hell but worth every penny; It is detailed through and through and the Photo etch parts included give it that extra kick which does this; the queen of battleships justice. She is a monster of a build though; time an effort certainly required!

Excellent new tool model from Tamiya ,””finished” within a month (due to lockdown but I’m still working on her) with pleasure ,highly recommended however you may need some experience and extra parts though.

El barco es muy bonito. Se necesitan herranientas para hacer algunos huecos, les recomiendo un mini taladro para ello. El barco esta muy detallado y lo mejor es que puedes pintarlo a tu gusto. ¡Definitivamente es idéntico a lo que algun dia fue el Yamato en persona!

INMEJORABLE

Tamiya se ha vuelto a superar a si mismo con esta impresionante maqueta del Yamato a escala 1/350 (que por cierto es el único fabricante que la ofrece) Han cuidado hasta el más mínimo detalle y, al ser edición Premiun, incluye fotograbados y un libro de 32 páginas con la historia de este colosal buque. Imprescindible. Nota a Amazon: este tipo de artículo ha de ser enviado empaquetado o envuelto en papel kraft como mínimo ya que el embalaje no está diseñado para soportar el envío (aunque sea por agencia) y llega roto, arañado y doblado. Para un buen aficionado al modelismo la caja es tan importante como el contenido. En mi caso llegó rota, doblada y llena de etiquetas adhesivas que desmejoraron y mucho el aspecto de la misma. Hablamos de un artículo de más de 200€ por lo que no viene de un poco de papel de embalaje. Gracias.
