Great value for what you get
If you want an electric full size key piano, look no further for the price. presuming its still a good price , £179 at time of purchase. I didn't need a full size keyboard but the price for its application in a home studio was fantasticI like the fact it is merely an electric piano, not that i'm knocking the ones that have multi voices and drum track backing, as i dont need them. if you do want these additions, then this piano wont be for you, unless you use usb to host. The sound of the piano voice is fairly accurate and as described, also it has an electric piano sound, organ bass and synth sound, and you can add reverb etc..it is reasonably loud at max setting, but probably not loud enough for noise makers:-). this seems to be what some purchasers have had concerns about.Ive read some reviews that the weighting isnt very good, i dont totally agree. it depends what you will be using it for, be it strictly standalone piano or midi trigger or both.Outputs are as described for your choice of applications so look though product description info.Whats very handy is the usb to host. NOTE usb cable not provided in the package! (its a type-B USB cable exactly like the ones used in most home printers)For those not so sure about technology, this means it acts as a midi device when plugged into your computer and can trigger a whole world of other sounds in programmes (like cubase etc)..it becomes your drummer, your piano/accordion/orchestral strings/bass/guitar/sfx trigger as loud as you like running through connected speakers.it isnt heavy to move around and isnt difficult to get around setting up. it worked straight away out of the box within a few minutes.

Ive had this keyboard for around 3 months and I'm pretty impressed. They have kept things very basic in terms of available sounds and hardware function, which may be a double edged sword to some people wanting more. I personally like the simplicity --in terms of hardware and built-in software- and generally prefer just using a standard piano sound when playing, with an additional sustain pedal. It took a little getting used to the semi weighted keys (about half an hour) but they do work well generally and most beginners and intermediate players will likely be happy enough with the level of intonation available, given the price point. The only area where it falters (and this is nit-picky) is when pressing the keys very delicately, it is unlikely to trigger, but you can alter the sensitivity as a potential fix for very soft styles. It offers four sounds which cover the basics for most players and the ability to mix two sounds together or split the keyboard with one or two sounds is useful and I use it pretty frequently, especially when teaching a friend or jamming. Otherwise, it offers a metronome, chorus and reverb sound available a the push of a button, so there are definitely plenty of options despite the simplicity and I generally haven't found it wanting. Although the option to alter the mix ratio would have been nice. However, it can be used as a MIDI keyboard to cover all the shortfalls it lacks on it's own and it does a pretty good job. So, overall it's an impressive keyboard for the price, well suited to life on the road as a cheap gigging piano or at home for players who are learning/developing skills. I will personally be using it for many years to come.

Great value for money!
Considering that the piano is only £200, it’s of great quality! The keys are well build, it sounds fantastic. Its minimalistic design gets the job done. Additionally, getting a 3 month free trial of Skoove Premium is highly appreciated. I’m sure this would be great for kids learning piano for the first time. However, I’m a young adult and what I like about this keyboard is its affordability. I had struggled to get a keyboard for months due to the high cost, so to get a keyboard like this that doesn’t sacrifice on quality is fantastic.

Good value, but the mechanical noise is distracting.
I purchased the Alesis Recital on the 6th of April 2024, and after putting it through its paces for quite some time, I have some mixed feelings. As a beginner, it’s a bit of a "love-hate" relationship.Ideal for Beginners: If you’re just starting your journey, having the full 88-key range is brilliant. It allows you to learn proper pieces without running out of room.Design & Value: For the price point, the design is sleek and it looks great in the room. It’s hard to find another full-sized keyboard that offers this much for the money. The One Big Flaw: Clacky KeysMy main grievance, and it’s a significant one, is the mechanical noise of the keys. The Issue: From day one, the keys have made a very distracting clicking/thumping sound when pressed. The Reality Check: I initially thought it might just need "breaking in" and that the noise would settle with use. Unfortunately, that hasn't happened. The noise is loud enough that it’s actually audible over the music itself. While the internal sounds of the piano are decent, the physical "clatter" of the plastic keys really breaks the immersion. It's a fantastic tool for learning due to its features and affordability. However, if you are sensitive to mechanical noise or plan on playing at lower volumes, those noisy keys might drive you a bit mad. Great starter kit, but be prepared for the clatter!

Excellent Choice for a Beginner Learning Piano
As a 35-year-old IT worker with zero prior experience in playing the piano, I took a leap of faith and decided to start my musical journey with the Alesis Recital 88 Key Digital Piano. And boy, am I glad I did! First off, the 88 keys provide an authentic piano feel, making it a breeze to transition from a digital keyboard to an acoustic piano in the future. The touch sensitivity is spot on, allowing me to express myself through varying degrees of dynamics in my playing. One of the best features for a beginner like me is the built-in lesson mode. It has been incredibly helpful in guiding me through the basics and learning different songs step by step. The voices and tones are rich, giving me a diverse range of sounds to explore as I progress in my learning. The connectivity options are a real bonus for an IT worker like me. I can easily connect the piano to my computer or phone, allowing me to access various educational apps and even record my practice sessions to monitor my progress. The Alesis Recital 88's portability is another big plus. It's lightweight and compact, so I can easily move it around my apartment or take it with me when I visit friends or family. My only minor gripe is that the speakers could be a bit more powerful, but it's not a deal-breaker since I can always connect external speakers for a more immersive experience. In conclusion, the Alesis Recital 88 Key Digital Piano is an excellent choice for beginners like me who are diving into the world of piano playing. With its realistic feel, helpful features, and easy connectivity, it has made my learning journey enjoyable and rewarding. I highly recommend it to anyone starting out on their piano adventure!

Great keyboard, good price, good for beginners
I bought this for 7 year old nephew as he’s starting out piano lessons, I’ve left it a couple of months before reviewing to see it properly after some time, it’s still the same, no problem with the keys, sound quality is great, and he uses it at least everyday. It’s really simple and easy to use, literally just a touch of a key. (Get it?) but I’m very happy with the keyboard and so is he!

Great quality. good practice keyboard.
Great keyboard for one of my children. He likes the keys being sensitive to touch and the range of keys is better than he had. Hes practising most days with this. seems to love it.Update: 3/08/2020 I thought I would add an update, my son has played this daily since getting it. He still loves it and has become very accomplished on it. It's much better than the one his school and sixth form has. He takes this in to play on for performances. He plays it mostly on the piano setting but has used others too. The sound is great for his needs, could hear it fine in a school hall. I still think it is a great starter keyboard that they won't grow out of too quickly.

I love it
I'd always had a keyboard until about 8yr ago and I've missed it like crazy! This electronic piano is brilliant, very nice feel to the keys, slightly weighed so feels more like a piano. It doesn't have loads of voices like a keyboard, it's got piano, electric piano, synth, bass and something else I can't think of right now haha but yeah it has a more professional feel to it but it's definitely going to be good for beginners too considering it's a full size 88key. I'm over the moon with this instrument, definitely recommend. Thank you!

Alesis rectical piano
Before purchasing a digital piano, I did a lot of research and came across the Alesis Recital 88-Key Digital Piano for my husband, and it has been a wonderful choice! The full-size keys feel great, and the sound quality is clear and rich for the price. He loves how easy it is to use and how realistic it feels compared to a traditional piano. It’s perfect for practicing at home, We’re very happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend it to others!
