So pleased with this fire. It looks so good, when the fire is off, the logs are soft glowing embers, it's lovely, perfect for our large living room.

Really pleased , easy to install, looks just like a real log fire even the logs light up . Heat is really good . Definitely worth the money . Highly recommend .

One star off for this: Bought as 'very good', open box previously returned, the detachable surround, had a nasty dent, which had we wanted to use it, would likely have resulted in a return. HOWEVER, we used the fire inset into our fireplace without the surround and am really impressed! Having traipsed around a well known DIY Store to find unsuitable fires of well over double the retail price of £220 of this one, a further discount to £138 as an open box was a brilliant price! Furthermore, the fire itself looks great! Love the realistic flame effect and logs, which unlike another comment I saw don't in my opinion look 'plasticky'. There were also previous comments about 'Do not cover' being imprinted on the fire front. But a little magnetic Dimplex badge was included and covered the writing perfectly!

I was lucky that this fitted my existing basic brick fronted fireplace without the metal surround. The measurements looked good but the 3D VIEW worried me and it is not accurate. The side panels they show are meant to be the surround along the sides and top. This is completely removable by undoing several screws to leave just the basic innards at the back. I levelled the unit with a couple of old 2p pieces under the front metal plate behind the removable plastic basket. I love the look of the actual fireplace especially the removable bowl shaped basket front. The flame effect is very good. You can’t expect perfection in this scenario but I think it’s as good as it gets and better than my waving ribbons which I thought were OK in another fire I used to have. A little imagination is a good thing. I probably won’t use the fan heater as I bought it primarily for looks and effects. Just need to hide the mains lead a bit now and find a nice wooden lintel, if I can find one that fits. Really pleased with it!

Lovely fire, belts the heat out .very quiet, nice and traditional look . Unfortunately it's worked for a year and was faulty just before the years warranty was up . Got in contact with dimplex . There going to give me replacement fire as a swap. Dimplex customer service was fantastic and quick to get in touch with me . So apart from the fire went faulty just before the warranty every thing is ok . Would by again as I got two other dimplex heaters in use in home .

Great flame effect but does not seem suitable to inset the fire so stands in front of the opening, which is fine as I measured the space before ordering. Also, there is a sparkle effect to the logs so looks like tgey are glowing even when tge fire is completely off.

This replaced a more expensive fire that we had previously and it was just as nice to look at . Warms quickly and is simple to use. The flames looked very realistic but it made a squeeky sound when they were turned on. I had to adjust the rotating bar a little and add some lubricating oil to make it silent. All things considered this is a good fire for the price.
