Micromuff The Original Wind Muffler

I unpackaged and used this for the first time today. Stuck it on the top of my camera which was mounted to the outside of a drift car and it seemed pretty intact after, and sound was improved a lot.I am not happy at all though, about the fact that the sticker in the box was a micromuff logo, and not the 'I love Muff' sticker, and to be honest, I bought this product for that sticker.

I daily vlog on Youtube so i feel like i have enough knowledge with this product to give a fair review.The packaging was very well done and the product was in great condition. I managed to put the Micromuff on to the camera's mic with no trouble.I will admit i was very sceptical of this product. It looked bizarre and strange on the camera and I hadn't seen anyone else with one at the time.I was pleasantly surprised when first using this in public the amount of wind this blocks out is unreal! You have to hear it to believe it.I would recommend this to anyone looking to record outside without the use of an external microphone it is amazing!

Not tested it yet but saw someone else use it and it made a difference to their sound quality when sailing. Since I bought it I saw someone use an elastic band to position a small piece of foam over the mircophone on their Gopro. Foam like you get to cover an earbud headphone. They said it works the same and I might have tried this first had I known earlier.

This is a good item and does cut down the wind sound on my DSLR - not totally, but it definitely reduces it.I leave the Velcro on the camera and just use the muffler when required - I haven't lost it yet!!

I use it on my camera fitted in my helmet when I ride my motorcycle. The noise is still there but in a reduced stable level. The sudden howling when turning my head to check the rear view mirror are removed.

Worked fine on a windy beach in Brighton. I use the G7x which has three holes in the middle then one each side. I stuck the round velcro in the middle so the muff goes over the three holes and also spreads out over the rest (If that makes sense). Really did work very well as I was worried.

I bought this to try and reduce the need for purchasing an external microphone for recording audio and video with. It seemed like a quick, easy and comparatively cheap alternative. However, the velcro is inadequate for holding the windshield securely to the camera, and to be perfectly honest it made no real difference to the quality of the audio captured, and the reduction in wind noise was negligible. I wouldn't recommend purchasing one.

While it does cut down the wind noise quite a lot, it certainly doesn't eradicate it. It's also quite expensive for what it is.
