This moxa box has classic heat therapy with an awesome belt for busy people on the go! It’s made of copper and includes a 3-layer smoke filter (fabric + activated carbon + ventilation), so you get warmth without overwhelming smoke—a big benefit if you want moxibustion indoors. It’s especially helpful for aches in the neck, back, knees, or during colder seasons when cold joints need soothing. It’s portable, fairly easy to use, has multiple temperature levels, and the accompanying insulated bag helps with safer handling. On the flip side, the copper gets hot pretty quickly, so it should be carefully supervised. So if your looking for a cleaner version of moxa therapy with portability and better smoke control, it’s a great pick. I take this to acupuncture with me! I really like this moxa box. One thing to note is that there is a proper way to put the metal box in the fabric pouch. The screen part of the metal box (not the side that has the adjustable vent) goes down on the side of the fabric pouch that has the brown fabric that touches the body. At first, I put the vented side down inside the pouch on the side that touches the body, and the moxa box was very hot against the skin. Ouch, I learned my lesson. I thought I must be using it wrong, so I watched some videos online of some TCM doctors demonstrating how to properly place the metal moxa box inside the fabric pouch. I saw that I was putting it in upside down. I wanted to share that in case someone else was putting it in upside down like I was. The moxa box still gets warm, but it doesn't burn the skin like it does when it the moxa box is put in upside down. I hope this helps those who also may not know how to properly use it.

Very cool. I have to my husband for his bday. It’s great for doing moxa hands free. It doesn’t contain all the smoke but I really wanted it for the hands free part.

It works really nice 4 stars because the strap is not long enough, if I put it around my belly is so tight it’s uncomfortable. I’m not big my pant size is 6. Just at the end it gets a bit hot so I move it a bit. I only used it with the air vents completely close. Since receiving it I think I have used it maybe 8 times.

Spreads an even and tolreble heat over the area covered by the pad. Adjust the vents to your level of toleration for the smoke. Closing the vents prolongs time span of heat. It is helpful with certain arthritic pains.

I really wanted to love this holder because it’s so much easier than holding a moxa stick by hand for an entire treatment session, especially when working on multiple areas. The concept is great and it should make treatments much more convenient. Unfortunately, it hasn’t performed as well as I hoped. When using the smokeless moxa sticks recommended for this belt, it takes quite a while for the pad to warm up against the treatment area. Then once it finally gets warm enough, the heat only lasts a few minutes — not long enough for a full, effective treatment session. I need something that provides steady warmth for longer than that. It is hard to know whether opening up the vents is really that helpful for keeping a longer burn or not. It would be great if multiple options for moxa sticks were recommended for this product. I will be keeping it since I’ve already opened the box of moxa sticks and want to continue trying to make it work, but overall it has been a disappointing experience. I really hoped this would be the solution for easier at-home treatments, sigh.

I have tried many other brands and this one is in fact, the most smokeless one available. Where the zipper closes, there is also a strap that encompasses the zipper so smoke does not easily escape. We love it!
